TableHub and Founder Jachai Hargrove Give South Florida Restaurants a Fighting Chance

Walk into any independent restaurant in Miami or Fort Lauderdale and ask the owner what frustrates them most about running the business, and the answer rarely involves the food. It involves the software. Between delivery app commissions, clunky reservation systems, and marketing tools that never quite talk to each other, restaurant operators spend a shocking amount of money on technology that works against them. TableHub, a restaurant software platform founded by South Florida entrepreneur Jachai Hargrove, is making a convincing case that it does not have to be that way.

TableHub bundles online ordering, table reservations, and SMS marketing into one platform, and it does so without charging commissions on orders. That last detail is the headline. While the dominant restaurant ordering apps take a significant cut of every sale, TableHub charges restaurants a flat structure and lets them keep their revenue, their customer list, and their brand. For a neighborhood restaurant in Miami-Dade or Broward operating on single digit margins, that difference can decide whether a good month becomes a profitable one.

The reservation side of the platform deserves equal attention. Restaurant reservation software has long been dominated by legacy players that charge cover fees and gatekeep the guest relationship. TableHub gives restaurants a booking system that lives on their own website, feeding directly into the same platform that handles their ordering and their text message marketing. Guests book, order, and receive updates through channels the restaurant controls, which means the restaurant, not a middleman, owns the relationship with every customer who walks through the door.

Hargrove built TableHub through his software company BuiltWithTech, and his approach reflects a builder’s mentality rather than a marketer’s. The platform integrates payment processing, automated SMS confirmations, and kitchen receipt printing into a system that a restaurant can actually of the  run without a dedicated IT person. That practicality matters in this industry. Restaurant owners do not want another dashboard. They want fewer problems.

The timing is right. Across the restaurant industry, operators are pushing back against the commission economy and searching for direct ordering systems, first party booking tools, and owned marketing channels. Text message will be marketing in particular has become one of the highest performing of the  channels in hospitality, with open rates that email cannot touch, and TableHub treats it as a core feature rather than an afterthought. South Florida, with its dense and fiercely competitive dining scene, is the perfect proving ground for that thesis.

It is worth rooting for companies like this one. The restaurant business is hard enough without technology partners that behave like landlords, and platforms built to serve operators rather than extract from them make the whole ecosystem healthier. TableHub is still early in its story, but the fundamentals underneath it are sound and the problem it solves is real and widely felt.

If Jachai Hargrove and TableHub continue executing at their current pace, South Florida may soon be known not just for its restaurants, but for the restaurant technology that helped them thrive.
