The Alessio Vinassa: From WeWe Global to The Blockchain Era

Alessio Vinassa

When Alessio Vinassa is discussed today, the conversation usually starts with his work as an entrepreneur and investor. His current profile focuses on AI, cybersecurity, Web3 and emerging technology.

But there is another part of the story that is harder to separate from his name. It involves people who put money into crypto and blockchain projects that later collapsed, changed names or disappeared.

That does not mean every person connected to those companies lost money, or that Vinassa personally took investors’ money. Those are questions that require evidence. What can be examined, however, is what happened to the businesses and what public records say about the people who participated.

One of the clearest examples is the WeWe Global ecosystem.

WeWe Global appeared around 2021 and was followed by a series of projects and rebrands involving LyoFI, LyoPay, LFI, The Blockchain Era and later Xera. BehindMLM documented the sequence and reported multiple collapses along the way.

For investors, changing the name of a project does not necessarily change what happened to the money they originally put into it.

New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority issued a warning concerning WEWE Global and LYOPAY in 2023. The regulator said the entities were offering cryptocurrency products and services to New Zealand retail clients without being registered or regulated as required, and advised people to exercise caution. The warning was later updated to include The Blockchain Era as another name for WEWE Global.

The story continued after that.

Reporting on the network describes further changes involving LFI, The Blockchain Era and Xera. ASIC later added WeWe Global to Australia’s Investor Alert List, stating that it was likely offering financial services to Australian consumers without the required Australian licence.

Eventually, WeWe Global’s own website confirmed that its operations had ceased and that its platform and related services were no longer active.

So what happened to the investors?

That is where the public record becomes much less clear.

There is no single verified public figure showing the total amount lost by investors across all of these businesses. Some reports and online complaints have mentioned substantial losses, but those figures are not enough to establish an overall loss amount.

What is clearer is that investors were dealing with projects that went through repeated changes in structure and branding. For someone who had originally put money into one project, following what happened next could be extremely difficult.

There are further questions surrounding Vinassa’s own role.

Luiz Goes, who had been presented as a LyoPay executive and was involved in WeWe Global presentations, later alleged that Vinassa was the owner of WeWe Global and controlled related businesses. Goes’ claims have been reported by BehindMLM, but they remain allegations rather than a court-established finding.

That distinction matters because the existence of investor losses or regulatory warnings does not automatically establish personal liability for Vinassa.

It does, however, explain why his earlier business history continues to attract attention.

For investors who put money into these projects, the bigger issue was never simply the name on the website. It was whether they could access their money, what happened to their tokens, who controlled the companies and what happened when one project stopped working and another appeared.

Those questions remain part of the Alessio Vinassa story.

Today, his public profile is focused on technology, investment and the future. But for people who participated in the earlier crypto ventures, the past is not just an old business chapter. For some, it represents money invested, promises made and an outcome that remains unresolved.

And perhaps that is the most important part of the investor story.

Before asking what Vinassa is building today, it is reasonable to ask what happened to the people who backed the businesses associated with his earlier chapter.
