Morbius will become another jewel in the ever-so-valuable crown of Marvel. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film saw several postponements in its release date. However, it seems like fans will finally get to the popular flick this week.
It’s Jared Leto‘s turn to be a Marvel anti-hero—kinda—in the upcoming Sony superhero movie Moribus, which opens in theaters this weekend.
Originally introduced as a villain in the Spider-Man comics, “Morbius: The Living Vampire,” aka Michael Morbius, eventually became a brooding anti-hero with his own comic series. Dr. Morbius is a former award-winning biochemist who kinda, sorta, accidentally gets turned into a vampire while attempting to cure his rare blood disease. Oopsie-daisy! You know how these things go. Let’s just pray that Leto isn’t taking his “method acting” to the point of drinking human blood.
In addition to Leto starring as Morbius himself, the Morbius movie cast also includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. The film was directed by Swedish filmmaker Daniel Espinosa, with a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
After the success of Venom, another film franchise built around a Spider-Man villain, Sony no doubt has high hopes for Morbius. Here’s what you need to know about how to watch Morbius and when to expect Morbius on streaming.
Morbius Release Date: When was the film released?
Considering that the pandemic caused by Coronavirus is gradually going away, the movie is all set to be released in theaters. You can expect it in your nearest theaters on April 01, 2022. What a great way to start the new month, right?
Sony has pushed back the release date for the Marvel film Morbius, starring Academy Award winner Jared Leto. While the Columbia Pictures title was previously scheduled to open on January 28, it will now hit theaters in IMAX and premium large formats on April 1.
Morbius has encountered several delays – all thanks to the pandemic. Initially scheduled to be released on July 10, 2020, the dates shifted to July 31, 2020, then March 19, 2021, then October 8, 2021, and finally to January 21, 2022, before going back again to the original date of January 28.
With the surge in Omicron cases, it is an understandable situation and scheduling for April just makes sense.
Where can you stream Morbius?
Right now, the only place to watch Morbius is in a movie theater when it opens on Friday, April 1. You can find a showing at a movie theater near you here. After the movie’s theatrical run, you will be able to purchase Morbius on digital platforms like Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu.
Will ‘Morbius’ be Streaming on Amazon Prime Video?
Amazon Prime Video is one of the industry leaders in fetching OTT titles. Unfortunately, Marvel and Sony’s new movie will not make their way to Prime Video.
Will ‘Morbius’ be Streaming on Disney+?
Considering Disney’s phenomenal library featuring almost all MCU titles, one might guess that Morbius will come to The Walt Disney-owned platform. However, technically the movie is not the sole property of MCU. It is part of Sony’s franchise Marvel similar to the Spider-Man movies.
As a result, you shouldn’t expect it to come to Disney+. But if you want to watch a series about another popular Marvel anti-hero, we might have something for you. Marvel’s Moon Knight has recently started streaming on Disney+, and you can watch it on the streaming service right now.
Will ‘Morbius’ be Streaming on Netflix?
Not right now—but it will be someday. While you certainly won’t see Morbius on Netflix before it releases on video-on-demand, last year Sony signed a deal to bring the studio’s 2022 film slate to Netflix during the “Pay 1 window,” which used to be 18-months after the film’s theatrical release, but could be even sooner, given that most theatrical windows have been reduced from 90 days to 45 days during the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, it’s likely you will see Morbius on Netflix in 2023.
When it comes to superhero flicks, Netflix is not the first name that comes to the minds of fans. However, according to a report by Jan Bharat Times, Jared Leto’s rendition of Morbius will come to Netflix. They have reported that the film should come to the streaming giant sometime in May 2022.
That’s it from our end. Will you watch the film on the big screen? Or will you wait for it to come to Netflix? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Will Morbius Be on Hbo Max?
No. Morbius is a Sony movie, not a Warner Bros. movie. Also, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies in 2022. (Last year, Warner Bros. opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before moving to HBO Max.)
Will Morbius Be on Hulu?
Yes, eventually—but you’ll have to wait. Last year, Disney made a deal with Sony to bring Spider-Man and other Sony titles to Disney Plus after the movies are released on Netflix, beginning with Sony’s 2022 release slate. The deal will bring Sony’s titles, such as Uncharted, to Disney platforms for their Pay 2 windows, which should be a little over 18 months after the movie opens in theaters. Therefore, you may see Morbius on the Disney streaming platforms around September or October 2023.

How to watch morbius 20222 online free?
Upon its initial release, “Morbius” will be playing exclusively in theaters. But gone are the days of having to wait nearly three months for a blockbuster movie to be made available at home. Rather, most movies become available on premium VOD mere weeks after they first hit theaters, meaning that studios charge a premium to rent the new movie at home through a digital retailer, such as Fandango, Amazon Prime Video, or Vudu. In this case, Sony has committed to a theatrical release, likely of at least 45 days. That means the movie will likely be available to rent some time in mid-March.
This, however, is all subject to change as things continue to evolve and studios adapt to the post-Covid landscape. But Sony has made it clear they are committed to releasing movies in theaters, meaning viewers will have to wait at least a little bit for this one. If Sony shortens the window to around 30 days, for whatever reason, it might — and we stress might — make its way to VOD in early March, though mid-to-late March seems far more likely.

A new action-packed movie entitled “Morbius” comes out on April 31st at midnight (EST). What is the reviews rating of Morbius?
With a snarl, with a roar, with a facial morph into horrible sub-Voldemort nasal loss and then back to being handsome, the Marvel superhero-vampire Morbius is with us. And sadly his superpower is being bafflingly dull. His story unfolds with all the dramatic shape of a screensaver and then ends – to be followed by two plonkingly anti-climactic post-credit stings whose sheepish purpose is to lay out more coming attractions from the very corporate Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). in case we justifiably felt that all this was a bit of a letdown.
Jared Leto plays the nobly dedicated Dr. Michael Morbius, who affects a Charles Manson-style long hair-plus-beard combo to go with his gaunt unhealthy manner and Richard III caliper-canes. The poor man suffers from a blood disorder and has dedicated his life to a cure – so much so that he gets the Nobel prize for medicine in an early scene, but he’s such a badass that he turns it down at the ceremony. Or something; we never quite find out what he does or says to the poor old King of Sweden. But the point is supposed that Dr. Morbius had formed a lifelong friendship in a children’s hospital with the kid in the next bed with the same condition – and he grows up to be a needy, greedy individual called Milo (Matt Smith), quite without Dr. Morbius’s ethical superiority.
When Morbius desperately ingests vampire-bat blood in a last-ditch attempt at a cure, his resulting transformation into a super-strong vampire monster with extraordinary abs disturbs him so much he refuses to keep using it. Instead, he manufactures artificial blood from a secret lab once used by criminals for counterfeiting $100 bills. Because … obviously it’s very much the same sort of technology. But Milo – Hyde to his Jekyll – eagerly glugs the vampire-bat blood down and embraces his evil destiny, becoming Morbius’s enemy. Meanwhile, Morbius’s colleague Dr Martine Bancroft (Adria Arjona) has a shy tenderness for him, and Jared Harris has to play the two men’s sorrowing mentor Dr Emil Nikols.
It really is an amazingly pointless and dumb film: the good/bad setup between Morbius and Milo is muddled and cancelled by the not-especially-compelling moral struggle within Morbius himself. Both Leto and Smith have to keep doing the evil demonic face-change growling thing, and it is intensely silly. Let’s hope the extended Spider-Man universe extends far enough to include something more interesting than this.
Morbius is released on 31 March in the UK and Australia, and on 1 April in the US.
MORBIUS – Final Trailer (HD)
Morbius post credit scene
Morbius has finally arrived, and Marvel’s (living!) vampire doctor has some personal demons to deal with in his debut film. But just because the movie keeps things small, doesn’t mean it can’t tie into a larger world in one way or another.
While most of Morbius is rooted in the doctor’s battling his own bloodthirstiness and Matt Smith’s villain, the post credits widen the scope a bit and set up for an expansive future and a few familiar faces.
Morbius has two mid-credits scenes, one that takes place shortly after the credits begin, and another that happens a few minutes later. There is not a scene at the very end of the final credits.
Morbius’ post-credits scenes connect the movie to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, sort of like the teaser scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. This one, however, is a little more confusing.
The first of the movie’s two stingers cuts to a shot of New York City, just as a giant purple rift appears in the sky — which is presumably the effect of Doctor Strange’s spell from Spider-Man: No Way Home. We then cut to the inside of an empty prison cell, just seconds before Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) appears from thin air, inside of it. He checks himself out in the mirror, seemingly because he looks a bit different than he did before, but seems satisfied by whatever he finds. We then see a brief news report that says that a man named Adrian Toomes was found inside an empty jail cell and will soon be released. It’s not really clear when this takes place in relation to the plot of the movie.
The movie’s second after-credits scene shows Morbius, well after the events of the movie, driving a sports car in the middle of an open road with fields on either side. He suddenly gets out and feels his bat sonar tingling before Toomes’ Vulture appears in a slightly altered version of his wingsuit from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The two have a brief chat where Toomes admits he has no idea how he got here, but he thinks it has something to do with Spider-Man. More importantly, Toomes says that he thinks some people like him and Morbius should team up and “do some good.”
Is there an end credit scene is Morbius?
While the Sony Pictures spinoff of Spider-Man, Morbius, has not performed well with critics so far in reviews, hopefully, the end-credits scene entices more people. The Morbius post-credits scene had details leaked by director Daniel Espinosa, revealing Marvel Cinematic Universe connections and more. While Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) might not be in the MCU, a Tom Holland Spider-Man villain, the Vulture (Michael Keaton), has joined the living vampire after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
After Spider-Man (Tom Holland) defeated the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Adrian Toomes found himself locked away in prison with the Scorpion (Michael Mando).
While he did not appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home or Spider-Man: No Way Home, Morbius director Espinosa confirmed he would return to the Venom and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) universe.

What is morbius movie about?
Consider this: He’s from Sweden, and he has never directed a superhero movie before. That means that “Morbius,” a Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters film, was his big break. Yet instead of making a bloated, self-important atrocity like the nearly three-hour-long “The Batman,” he actually chose to make a good movie. Moreover, he chose to make a good movie about a vampire superhero, as if that were easy. And he did in 104 minutes, including credits.
It could have been awful. Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) is a Nobel laureate suffering from a blood disease that has been killing him since the day he was born. With time running out, he embarks on a line of clandestine research involving mixing human DNA with vampire bat DNA. His intention is to extract one curative element from bats, but he gets more than he bargained for. He is restored to health, but he is also given superhuman strength and an insatiable thirst for human blood.
Leto (“House of Gucci”) is a good actor, but if left unchecked, he can overdo it. That would have been fatal here. Instead, Espinosa keeps all the performances naturalistic. The situations are extreme, but the emotions are real. In the end, the great appeal of Leto’s performance is that he doesn’t play Morbius as the usual solipsistic superhero, who only cares about his own deep feelings. Morbius is an entirely decent guy, who is appalled at the possibility of hurting others.
Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama’s script, based on the Marvel comics by Roy Thomas, is a skillful mix of elements from “The Fly,” “Dracula” and “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” From the beginning, the story has a sense of urgency, because the illness of Morbius and his best friend, Milo (Matt Smith), is made vivid. We meet them as suffering children, and then we see them as suffering adults, looking thin as death.
One of the remarkable visuals of “Morbius” is how Leto’s body is made to look almost skeletal, like that of a concentration camp victim. It’s so convincing one could easily believe that Leto lost 40 pounds for the role, as he did for “Dallas Buyers Club.” But then we see him in the next scene, post-transformation, looking muscular and robust.
