“Healthcare is rapidly evolving due to new technology and increasing patient complexity. Choose a current problem in medicine or surgery and describe how advancements in medical technology—including devices, remote monitoring platforms, and/or AI—are changing the landscape of patient care in that domain, as well as your future role in the continued growth of that technology.”
One outstanding applicant will be awarded the $1,000 grant, which can be used toward tuition, research, or educational materials. Beyond easing the financial burden of higher education, the grant is designed to spotlight emerging innovators committed to shaping the future of healthcare.
Dr. Zachary Solomon is widely respected for his contributions to both surgery and healthcare innovation. A graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his General Surgery residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center and his Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. His distinguished career includes performing high-risk procedures such as heart transplantation and valvular surgery, as well as active research in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and ongoing consulting work in medical AI and device development.
