Vanywhere is a skill sharing platform built on the blockchain technology. The platform provides a decentralized skills marketplace that connects people with marketable skill sets to people in need of services that require those skills. Granted, there are several ways people can monetize any skill they possess, so what makes the Vanywhere platform a stand-out alternative?
Vanywhere encourages and promotes active direct peer-to-peer interaction between the service providers and the consumers. The platform offers the consumers the option of connecting to the service providers in real time through initiating a live chat. This interaction could be via video, voice or text, the point is that the service providers get a one on one with the potential clients. Through direct interaction, consumers can relay the specificities of their needs to the skiller to receive customized and personalize service that meets the consumers’ needs.
Vanywhere was founded by Rami Shechter and Itay Shechter. With prior work experience in digital marketing and e-commerce under international brands like Warner Bros, LivePerson and Pizza Hut, Rami Shechter who takes the position of the CEO of Vanywhere, has adequate work experience backed by a qualified team and an advisory board to build Vanywhere to become the top skill sharing marketplace on the blockchain.
Benefits of using Vanywhere
There are several benefits of Vanywhere which separate it from other mainstream skill sharing platforms. Some of those benefits include;
- Vanywhere gives the consumers quick and real time connection to skillers.
- It provides an interactive experience for the skillers and consumers on the platform.
- Consumers can have their services specially customized and tailored to fit their needs.
- The platform uses a unique cryptocurrency – VANY tokens to facilitate all transactions on the platform.
- Vanywhere has a ratings and review section on skillers’ profiles. These reviews left by other users creates a valuable and unmanipulatable reputation system for skillers.
Skiller
A service provider on the platform is called a ‘skiller’ and anyone with a marketable skill can become one. To become a skiller on the platform, individuals are required to fill out an application form which is critically reviewed by other members of the platform. Credible applications are approved and suspicious or inefficient applications are rejected. This community approval guard against inappropriate activities on the platform. Skillers are divided into three groups on the platform- professional, influencers and everyday skillers.
- Professional skillers
These are skillers with adequate experience and training who are considered professionals in their field of work. People in this category include accountants, dentists, programmers, beauticians, etc.
- Influencer skillers
These are people with a huge social media following. They are expected to engage their audience on social media monetization strategies through personal interactive sessions.
- Everyday skillers
Like the name suggests, everyday skillers are regular everyday people with outstanding skills or knowledge in certain fields willing to help other people who may be interested in their field of expertise.
VANY Token
VANY token is the native cryptocurrency of the platform, a QRC-20 compliant token built on the Qtum blockchain. The token will facilitate transactions on the platform that will attract minimal commission, unlike most payment systems that charge high fees on transactions. The VANY token will also be used to reward users on the platform for outstanding performance- like users who take part in community verification.
ICO of Vanywhere
Vanywhere is using the crowdsourcing tool – ICO to raise funds for the Vanywhere platform. For the ICO, a total supply of 800 million VANY tokens where created. However, only 400 million coins being 50% of the total supply will be issued for sale in the ICO. For the remaining half of the tokens, 23% will go to the company, 13% will be reserved for the Vanywhere team while the remaining 14% will be for the bounty program, partnerships and advisory board. The tokens will be sold at the rate of 1 VANY for 0.05 ETH with the hard cap fixed at $20 million dollars. As at the time of this report, there was no fixed date for the start of the ICO or any other relevant information pertaining to it.
Mobile application of Vanywhere
Vanywhere only offers mobile support for the iOS platform, for now, the app is available for download on the iOS App store. The interface has been made simple and user-friendly with a feed that is regularly updated with the editor’s choices and hottest content on the platform. Interested skillers can sign up for an account using the mobile app. Every skiller’s account has a profile that gives info on the skiller and the service or services they render, a portfolio that displays the skillers services and a review and ratings section for consumers.
Conclusion
The Vanywhere project is still largely under development. A web-based version is yet to be launched, nevertheless, the team is working towards developing one. With time, the platform will add the option for gigs and online courses created by skillers. Additionally, the platform will also be used to raise funds for charity and other good causes. The Vanywhere project is very ambitious and when it is fully launched, the platform will disrupt the operation of traditional skill sharing platforms, one which is long overdue for a disruption.
