Trading Platform Development: Case Studies Compared
Every trading platform developer says it can handle real-time data, order routing, and compliance. But a services page won’t show you whether a team has actually done it. A shipped product will.
So this comparison looks at five trading platform development companies through their real case studies: what they built, who they built it for, and what came out of it. That makes it easier to match a team to your product, whether it’s a broker platform, a stock app, or a crypto exchange.
Case Studies in Trading Platform Development
Predira and Limpid Markets: OTC Trading Platforms for Brokers and Banks
One of the cases in IT Craft’s portfolio is Predira. IT Craft developed a white-label OTC trading platform builder for Predira, serving interdealer brokers who lack OTC solutions in their niche, which lets brokers launch their own branded trading platform within minutes. A 7-person team built the MVP on a multi-tenant AWS architecture, with React and TypeScript on the frontend, a GraphQL backend, Cognito for user management, and DynamoDB for storage.
As a result, brokers can set up their own products, branding, and terms of service, and the platform automates traders’ negotiation processes, which cut operating costs for Predira’s clients.
Another case in IT Craft’s portfolio is Limpid Markets, an OTC marketplace for the London and Zurich interbank precious metals markets. Its users include LBMA members such as Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, Citibank, and Deutsche Bank, who use it to agree on precious metals swaps directly with each other.
Since 2018, a 7-person IT Craft team has maintained and expanded the platform after taking it over from a previous vendor. The work focuses on fault tolerance, strict banking security standards, and 24/7 availability, so technical issues never interrupt live trades. The team also automated real-time order synchronization.
As a result, activity among the major banks on the platform went up, and Limpid Markets grew its business by 40%.
ZAD: Shariah-Compliant Stock Trading and Robo-Advisor App
Shakuro designed the UX and UI for ZAD, a Kuwaiti mobile investment platform that combines a robo-advisor with stock and ETF trading under Shariah rules. The app targets people aged 20 to 40 who want to grow their income but have no professional trading experience.
The team studied the leading stock trading apps in West Asia and the principles of Shariah law before drawing a single screen. Then it built detailed wireframes, a risk profiling flow that works as an extended KYC step, and a backtest feature that shows potential returns before a user commits money. The stock page packs the chart, order book, analyst ratings, dividends, corporate events, and news into one tabbed screen. Users can place four types of orders, set price alerts, and track watchlists.
The project started with the robo-advisor only. Trading mode was added mid-project at the client’s request, and the design grew to cover both without overloading the screens.

Vest Exchange: Decentralized Perpetual Futures Exchange
4IRE worked on Vest Exchange, a US decentralized platform for trading perpetual futures that opens up new and previously illiquid markets in the creator economy.
4IRE’s work covered smart contracts and decentralized protocols, the parts of an on-chain exchange where a bug can cost traders real money. Vest’s CTO gave 4IRE a 5.0 review on Clutch, pointing to cost-effective solutions, development efficiency, and a self-sufficient team that kept suggesting process improvements.
Vest has raised about $5M. According to Vest’s own figures, the exchange has kept a median spread and slippage four times lower than other decentralized exchanges since launch.
EmKap: Cross-Platform Mobile App for an Investment Firm
Innowise developed a cross-platform mobile app for EmKap, an investment firm with offices in the UK and Cyprus that focuses on fixed income, brokerage, asset management, and custody.
EmKap’s clients often trade while traveling, and its web platform was awkward on a phone. A 5-person team built a Flutter app that connects to EmKap’s existing backend through a REST API layer, so user and order data stays synced with the web platform. Users can check portfolios and asset distribution, create and track order requests, see third-party market data, and ask an FAQ chatbot for help. For security, the app has two-factor authentication, locks itself when sent to the background, and asks for a PIN or biometrics after inactivity. Firebase push notifications alert users when an order status changes.
As a result, EmKap got a mobile app that works on iOS and Android and stays in sync with its web platform. It reached over 60% unit test coverage and got positive feedback from active traders, and Innowise still supports new versions.
Mobile Trading App for a European Crypto Exchange
S-PRO designed and built a mobile trading app for one of Europe’s largest crypto exchanges. The exchange has more than 1 million users who trade 50+ coins and tokens, and it operates under EU anti-money-laundering rules.
The challenge was serving two very different users in one app: a first-time buyer who doesn’t know what an order book is, and an active trader who wants charts and fast order entry. So S-PRO ran a design-thinking process with the exchange’s product, support, and compliance teams, tested clickable prototypes with real users, and only then started coding. The final app has a simple guided buy flow for beginners and a full trading screen with live charts, an order book, and fast order entry for pros. It’s protected by two-factor authentication, encryption, and layered identity checks, and its architecture is built to stay fast when traffic spikes.
As a result, users got the same features as on the web, on their phones. According to S-PRO, the app brought in people who would never install a trading terminal and contributed to growth in both users and trading volume.
Comparison of the Best Trading Platform Development Companies
The top software development companies specializing in trading platform development include IT Craft, Shakuro, 4IRE, Innowise, and S-PRO. Here is a comparison of them:
1. IT Craft
Founded in 2001, IT Craft has spent more than 20 years building web and mobile trading software, and its 330+ specialists. For brokers and fintech teams, that record makes it one of the best trading platform development companies to shortlist when a product has to go from MVP to live trading without a change of vendor.
The firm’s trading work covers stock, futures, and obligations platforms, crypto trading software, precious metals trading, automated trading tools, and OTC solutions.
On Clutch, the director of business development at International Fintech UAB says IT Craft “provides ongoing development services for us,” and the team now acts as that company’s primary software developer.
The trade-off: IT Craft builds custom software rather than licensing a finished trading engine, so teams that only want to switch on an off-the-shelf product may get there faster with a vendor that sells one.
Engagements run from a dedicated team or staff augmentation to full-cycle development.
Best for: brokers and fintech startups that want one partner to build, launch, and keep scaling a custom trading platform.
Services & expertise: trading platform development, OTC and white-label trading solutions, mobile trading apps, crypto trading software, algorithmic trading tools, trading analytics, MVP development, and ongoing support.
Strengths: full-cycle delivery from discovery to post-launch support, real-time and high-load architecture, multi-tenant white-label platforms, FIX and WebSocket integrations, KYC and AML built into the product, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, and flexible engagement models from a dedicated team to full outsourcing.

The team covers the whole path from brand strategy and UX research to development, QA, and post-launch support, so the people who design a trading app can also build it. It also adds AI features like smart search and recommendations to existing fintech products.
Services & expertise: fintech web and mobile app development, UI/UX design, branding, AI-powered features, and post-launch support.
Strengths: strong UX for complex financial screens, experience adapting products to regional markets and rules like Shariah compliance, and a 5.0 Clutch rating from 63 reviews.

Its focus is the crypto side of trading: exchanges, DeFi, and tokenized assets. Besides custom builds, it offers ready-made white-label products, including a neobank and a tokenization platform with secondary trading, that can shorten time to market. Those products come with ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and PCI DSS certifications, and the company was named a Top Tokenization Company in 2025.

Its client list includes three fintech unicorns and 26 private banks, and it built the e-banking platform for Sygnum, the world’s first regulated digital asset bank. Delivery runs from Zurich and Łódź, Poland, and projects start with a paid discovery or architecture assessment that ends with a scoped backlog and an estimate, so you know the cost before the build begins.
