The method
Keep in mind
Use the calculator to compare scenarios rather than as a guaranteed forecast.
Calculate net and gross revenue retention for a customer cohort and learn whether your growth is coming from the customers you already have or only from new ones.
Net revenue retention is the cohort's revenue today, after expansion, contraction and churn, divided by its revenue a year ago. Gross retention excludes expansion. Both are benchmarked against typical B2B SaaS ranges.
A cohort worth £100,000 a year ago that expanded by £22,000, downgraded by £6,000 and churned £9,000 is worth £107,000: 107% NRR and 85% GRR. Healthy, but the expansion engine has room to grow.

The core calculation or transformation runs in your browser. Normal website security and analytics may still record page-level events, but the tool does not need to create a public record from your inputs.
Including new customers in the cohort, which inflates the figure. Comparing a monthly NRR with an annual one. Ignoring gross retention, which shows the leak that expansion is covering.
