usb c compatible devices

You’ll find modern devices coming with different types of connections, some come with USB Type, USB Type B, USB Type C, and micro USB. But in this article, we’ll list only those devices which come with a USB C type connection.

Smartphone: Microsoft Lumia 950

The Lumia does not lack performance, the display is top-level, and the photo quality is outstanding. In addition, the Lumia 950 can be used via a dock like a PC on the monitor. Fast data transfer is possible via the USB C cable.

Smartphone: Huawei Nexus 6P

The Nexus 6P is well made and impresses with its sharp and large screen. The quality is excellent, and the camera has been significantly improved compared to its predecessor. Biggest advantage: The slim, pure Android software is easy to use and guarantees fast updates for 1.5 years. The USB Type-C port for rapid charging and fast data transfer is also a plus.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Radius 12

Toshiba offers the Satellite Radius 12 in two versions with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor of the 6th generation, 8 gigabytes of RAM, and Intel HD graphics. The 12.5-inch display can also be used as a touchscreen in tablet mode. With a Type-C connection, the new USB standard is also on board.

Laptop: MSI WS60-6QJ

An Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor with a clock frequency of 2.6 gigahertz, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and a graphics card from Nvidia (Quadro M2000M) are built into the multimedia notebook from MSI. The 15.6-inch display has a Full HD resolution. In addition, there is plenty of connectivity with two USB 3.0 ports, a Type-C socket, a 3-in-1 card reader, WLAN, and Bluetooth 4.1.

Laptop: MSI GT72S Dominator Pro

An overclockable Skylake model drives the MSI. For more speed, the frequency of the processor can be increased from 3.6 to 4 gigahertz. But is that not necessary? The MSI works extremely fast, even in the basic setting. The keyboard comes from SteelSeries, is pleasant to use, and has three different colored lighting zones. The MSI offers seven USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C socket, fast WLAN-ac, and Bluetooth 4.1. The shortcomings are the short battery life, the high heat development on the underside, and the very high weight of 3.79 kilograms.

Laptop: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion 12 x2

The 2-in-1 laptop from HP shines with good hardware: In addition to a 12-inch display with Full HD resolution, an Intel Core M processor with Skylake architecture and good Intel HD graphics are installed. A USB Type-C port is also included in the package.

Tablet: Samsung Galaxy TabPro S

Great display, excellent quality, high work speed: the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S convinced in the test. And with the supplied keyboard and stand, the Galaxy can be transformed into a small notebook in no time at all—the catch: The battery life is relatively short for a tablet. With intensive use, the Samsung only managed 6 hours and 39 minutes without a socket; it was 18 hours and 15 minutes with little use.

Accessories: Sandisk Ultra USB Type C USB 3.0

This USB stick does not come with a standard type A plug, but with the modern type C. Optionally, capacities between 16 and 128 gigabytes are available.

Accessories: Samsung Portable SSD T3

After the T1 2015, the T3 follows. Why Samsung is leaving out the logical continuation (T2) is unclear. The fact is: the new version of the compact external hard drive also offers plenty of space. The buyer can choose between the versions with 250, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 gigabytes, all of which have hardware encryption (AES 256-bit). Regardless of the capacity, the case measures 74x58x10.5 millimeters, and the manufacturer specifies a weight of 51 grams. The data is transported via the modern USB 3.1 interface (Type-C) with a maximum of 450 megabytes per second.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming G1

The gaming motherboard from GigaByte has a 1151 CPU socket for 6th generation Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors. In terms of RAM, up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM is possible. The only video output available is an HDMI connection, but the GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 offers two USB Type-C slots.

Tablet-PC: Google Pixel C

The Pixel C did well in the test: With its aluminum cover on the back, the tablet looks classy and is comfortable to hold – even if it is a bit heavy at 514 grams. The display offered high image sharpness, and the colors were bright. The processor worked perfectly with the new Android 6 operating system and offered a high working speed in the test. However, it is a downside that the memory cannot be expanded and that Google – despite the existing connection – has saved on a USB-C cable for fast data exchange with PCs and does not offer an LTE version.

Streaming-Box: Apple TV 4

Do you like the refreshed menu of the Apple TV 4? Thanks to the App Store, it is much more versatile than its predecessor? Also, through USB Type-C. The large selection of games is particularly noticeable. Apps from media libraries and video streaming services, on the other hand, are still rare. With Siri, users can use voice to find films on iTunes and Netflix, but other apps have not yet worked with Siri. The sometimes only mediocre image quality is even more annoying than the inconsistent operation. Films from media libraries jerk violently, photos and movies transferred from the iPhone via Airplay are blurred. It has to get better.
