Hemanth Atluri Cares About the Customer

Hemanth Atluri is one of the most notable technology developers who reached the top in the IT field and has helped shape the most notable technology we use today. Atluri’s journey is very interesting and inspiring, from the days when he used to visit a neighbor’s home to watch television, to the Software Engineer at Salesforce, a global leader in customer relationship management (CRM) and a rich educational background in Applied Computer Science.

Hemanth extensively worked on microservices architecture, asynchronous processing using Kafka, and using NoSQL databases MongoDB, and Cassandra. His expertise is in Java and Spring Boot Application development from “scratch to production maintenance,” as he explains.

Hemanth was one of the leaders in developing some of the backend technology behind one of the world’s most famous financial brands: Discover.

Discover Credit Card (CC) is one of the products of Discover Financial Services, and the third largest credit card brand in the United States, with nearly 50 million cardholders. Hemanth architected and implemented new cutting-edge NOSQL databases to store all the user events in events data stores that use Cassandra as a backend database. He developed software to block/freeze credit cards and request a new card from a member website or mobile app without contacting customer care, a technology that affects more than 50 million customers. After project implementation, customer call traffic was reduced by 78.3%. If you’re a Discover credit card holder who lost your card and needed to freeze it, you can thank Hemanth.

As a leader in the IT space, Hemanth likes where the industry is moving.

“The IT industry is moving on an upward trajectory with no signs of slowing down. As technology advances, the demand for tech talent will continue to grow which means a continued availability of IT jobs. This is one of the reasons that makes IT such an attractive industry.

There’s no limit to what you can achieve working in technology if you have the vision. Therefore, a career in tech will always motivate you to reach and achieve the highest standards. From coding and software development to data analysis, testing, project management, and more, there’s a multitude of different roles and functions within IT to suit various skill sets. With the diversity in the industry, individuals have an opportunity to wear multiple hats and have the flexibility to switch departments.”

At his core, Hemanth cares about building fantastic customer experiences and helping companies elevate to do the most good they can.

“Given the constantly evolving nature of technology, you have an unlimited potential for making an impact. From cloud computing to AI and machine learning, a career in tech provides the opportunity to work on diverse projects and learn new skills. The best part about working in IT is being able to go as far as I want. For example, learning new skills can be challenging but this will only increase your value and sense of satisfaction.

Likewise, it will help you advance quickly and gain more experience in the field. It’s no wonder that the majority of people in tech are so satisfied. Since tech plays a vital role in everything from communications to healthcare – working in tech gives you the chance to play an active role in shaping our future. My impact on the IT industry would be to deliver customer success through innovation, problem-solving and strategic programs for organizations to make a profit with social value.”
