Copy Trading vs Sniping on Banana Gun: Which One Fits a Meme Coin Trader With a Day Job
Banana Gun runs both copy trading and sniping inside one Telegram trading bot, and for a trader with a day job copy trading is the better fit. You pick a wallet and set caps once, while sniping needs you to find a contract address before liquidity lands. Put a stop on every position either way.
Banana Gun’s Telegram trading bot carries both: bananagun.io lists auto-sniping, limit orders and copy trading (read 2 Nov 2026). Each can run while you sit in meetings, but they ask for different work before you leave your desk.
Copy trading follows a person, and how wallet mirroring works comes down to one rule: the wallet you picked buys, and your account follows within the limits you set. Sniping follows an event, a token getting liquidity.
What does sniping need from you before liquidity lands?
A snipe triggers when liquidity is added to a token, or when a token migrates from Pump.fun to Raydium or another supported launchpad (Banana Gun’s Solana snipe docs).
You set Amount, Min/Max SOL Liquidity, Min/Max Token Liquidity, Min Token, MEV Tip and Slippage. Auto Sniping needs the contract address before liquidity is added, so the scouting happens ahead of the buy and falls on you.
Solana sniping runs only on Raydium AMM, Raydium CP, Meteora Dynamic, Meteora DLMM and PumpSwap (Banana Gun’s supported DEXes page, read 29 May 2026). A launch anywhere else is outside it.
What does copy trading need from you at 9 a.m.?
You need a target wallet and a few caps. In the bot, open Copy Trading from the start menu or type /copytrade, tap New Copy Trade, enter the target wallet address, select your wallets and toggle Inactive to Active.
Then the limits. “Active” sets how long it copies, for example 8 hours.
“Buy Fixed” spends the same amount every time. “Spending Limit” caps the total per wallet, and trades above it fail. “Max Market Cap” at $500K means a buy at $600K does not copy.
Copy trading is documented on Solana and on Robinhood Chain. The pick that matters is the wallet, and that is the part you cannot automate.
Which one fits a day job in a Telegram trading bot?
Copy trading fits better, because the setup is a one-time job and the caps do the daily work. Sniping suits a trader who scouts launches and has contract addresses lined up before liquidity arrives, so it only fits if you have time to scout.
Both live in the same Telegram trading bot, so you can start with copy trading and add sniping once you have a scouting routine.
Copy fills land after the wallet, at the price its buy left behind.
GMGN’s 30-day realized PnL for the trader frank read +$863,301 on 8 Oct 2026, +$447,431 on 20 Oct and +$258,719 on 27 Oct, so a wallet you picked in a good month can fade.
Tight caps cost you too. A low Max Market Cap skips buys that go on to run, and “Copy Sells” on means you sell when the wallet sells, after it.
New tokens swing both ways: Peace Coin’s first day
A snipe buys a token with no history behind it. Peace Coin (PEACE) was created on 2 Nov 2026 at 03:58 UTC and was up 10,873% in 24 hours, with a market cap of $300,352 (GMGN data, 2 Nov 2026).
The same list shows the other direction. Two tokens named American Oil Dividend Fund, both created on 1 Nov 2026 on Pump.fun, were down 99.9991% and 99.9992% in 24 hours (GMGN data, 2 Nov 2026).
GMGN’s honeypot flag was 0 on both, meaning sellable, and they still collapsed. GMGN’s honeypot flag only says whether a token can be sold, and it says nothing about whether the price holds.
A snipe on a token that behaves like the second pair takes the whole position. A copy trade of a wallet that bought it takes the same loss, just a little later.
A stop on every position, whichever you pick
Neither mode removes the need for an exit. Paste the contract address, tap “Setup Sell Limit Order”, set “Tokens” to the percentage you want sold and “Active” to how long the order lives, then choose “Stop Loss”.
The trigger is a percentage change in “Market Cap” or “Token Price”. “Trailing Stop Loss” raises the trigger as price makes new highs. Pending orders sit in “Limit Order Overview”.
A Stop Loss only works while its “Active” time runs.
It can also trigger on a wick that the wallet you copy sits through. Set a duration that matches how long you will be away from the chat, and check “Pending Limit Orders” when you are back.
From the copy trade menu, “Setup Limit Order” places buy and sell limit orders for that setup.
