What Hotel Buyers Should Check Before Ordering Custom Crystal Chandeliers

A custom chandelier order becomes easier to manage when the design, installation conditions and delivery scope are recorded before production begins. For a hotel buyer, the important question is how a selected design will fit the actual building and remain practical for the team that operates it.

A reference photograph is a useful starting point, but it leaves many decisions open. The same branching design can be built in different proportions, with different pendants and suspension arrangements. A clear brief allows the supplier, designer and installation team to work from the same information instead of filling those gaps independently.

Define the space before the product

Identify the exact location and purpose of each fitting. A chandelier above a restaurant table has a different relationship with guests than one hanging in a lobby or stairwell. Include ceiling height, surrounding finishes, furniture positions and the main viewing angles in the brief.

For repeated fittings, create a schedule with a location code for every unit. Record which dimensions and finishes should match and where variations are intentional. This helps prevent a sample approved for one room from becoming the assumed specification for every other area.

Turn the reference into a dimensioned drawing

Ask for a drawing that identifies overall width, body height, total suspension and mounting arrangement. For a branch design, the outer branches and lowest crystal drops need to be included in the stated dimensions. A central frame measurement alone may not describe the space the finished fitting occupies.

Have the project team review the drawing alongside the ceiling plan. Confirm how the fixture will be delivered to its location and who is responsible for the support and installation design. Keep the approved drawing version attached to the order so later revisions can be distinguished from the specification released for production.

Specify the visible materials

Terms such as gold finish or clear crystal can cover visibly different products. Request an appropriate finish reference and identify the pendant shape, color and material specification in writing. When the lighting is part of a coordinated interior, compare those choices with the actual metalwork and surfaces nearby.

For a larger order, discuss whether a physical sample or approved sample components are needed. If a sample is supplied, record what it approves. A finish sample may settle color while leaving the full fixture dimensions and lighting arrangement to be confirmed separately.

At HongFu Lighting, our custom crystal chandelier service covers changes to existing designs and inquiries based on a reference image or drawing. Buyers can make those discussions more useful by sending room dimensions, the intended appearance and the installation location together.

Confirm the electrical configuration for the destination

A photograph cannot establish whether the supplied configuration meets a project’s requirements. Give the supplier the destination market and ask the project electrician to confirm the required electrical specification and documentation before the order is released.

Record the proposed lamp holders or light sources and any controls that must work with them. If the property uses dimming or a centralized lighting system, resolve compatibility with the relevant project specialists. Ask for documentation that corresponds to the product being ordered. Treat any statement about an approval being available in the future as a separate item that still needs confirmation.

Review the whole delivered cost and schedule

Separate the fixture price from transport, destination charges and installation. State who arranges each part of the delivery and what is included in the quotation. This makes supplier comparisons more meaningful and gives the hotel team a clearer basis for budgeting.

Break the schedule into drawing approval, any sample review, production and transport. Tell the supplier the date the site can receive the goods as well as the intended opening date. Ask how design changes after approval would affect cost and timing, then record the agreed milestones in the order documents.

Plan for inspection and handover

Agree what evidence will be provided before dispatch. Depending on the order, this may include dimension checks, close-up photographs and an illuminated video. Use that evidence to review the agreed configuration; a photograph of a completed fixture does not replace the checks required by the project.

Ask how the frame and loose pendants will be packed, labeled and identified on arrival. The installation team should be able to connect each package with its location code and assembly instructions. Confirm the procedure for reporting missing or damaged parts and whether spare pendants or other replacement components are included.

Before handover, collect the final drawings, component details and maintenance instructions in one place. Keep the supplier’s contact and replacement-part references with those records. This gives the hotel team useful information long after the original purchasing team has completed the project.
