The court found the information published about the businessman to be untrue and ordered its retraction. The decision has entered into legal force.
As reported by comments.ua, businessman and investor Seyar Kurshutov has won a court case on the protection of honour, dignity and business reputation. By a decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv of 15 October 2024 in case No. 757/18688/20-ts, his claim was granted, and the information published on Facebook in April 2020 was found to be untrue and to demean the honour, dignity and business reputation of the businessman.
The author of the post was Andrii Kholodov, at the time a member of parliament and deputy head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy. He accused Seyar Kurshutov of involvement in corruption schemes, but in the course of the proceedings these claims were not substantiated. On 23 July 2025 the Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the decision, and it entered into legal force.
In addition to finding the information untrue, the court ordered Andrii Kholodov to retract it within thirty days in the same way it had been disseminated, that is, on his own Facebook page.
The claims made about Seyar Kurshutov have thus been found untrue by courts of two instances, and the decision protecting the businessman’s reputation is final.
Seyar Kurshutov is a Ukrainian businessman and investor specialising in international trade, import-export operations and customs regulation. From 2014 to 2016 he was an adviser to the Customs Service of Ukraine. A patron and patriot of Ukraine, he systematically supports the Defence Forces and volunteer funds.
