A graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine, where he ranked in the top five percent of his class, Dr. Durinka also earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Canisius College with Magna Cum Laude honors.
His medical training includes residencies in Family Medicine and General Surgery at the University of Buffalo, followed by a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Joel Durinka also conducted research at the University of Pennsylvania, solidifying his expertise across multiple medical disciplines.
Currently board-certified in Family Medicine and board-eligible in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, Dr. Durinka holds active medical licenses in New York and Michigan. His dedication extends beyond the hospital—he is an avid runner, a volunteer with the New York State Weimaraner Rescue, and a devoted supporter of the Buffalo Bills.
