PropTech Specialists Spaciable Introduces New Languages Feature to Support Multi-lingual Communication Between Housing Providers and Residents

Spaciable’s Languages tool empowers residents with the ability to access information about their home and development in their native language, as well as translate community updates in-app, enhancing inclusivity and community involvement.

25/09/2025  – Spaciable, a leading provider of property management resident engagement software, has launched its new Languages feature, designed to address diversity and communication challenges within real estate.

Spaciable is the digital division of Classic Folios, which has been supporting homebuilders since 1997 through bespoke Home User Guides and digital platforms. Spaciable is currently used across over 1,000 developments in the UK, including those built by Battersea Power Station Development Company, Cala, Far East Consortium, and Westminster City Council, helping optimise sales, marketing, and aftercare processes while saving time and money.

“At Spaciable, we’re always exploring new ways to strengthen the relationship between homebuilders or housing providers and their residents, while making their day-to-day lives easier. Effective communication is always a high priority for developers and landlords—especially considering the safety implications. With our new Languages feature, all residents can access crucial information about their home, as well as safety and wellbeing guidelines for the development. We believe this addresses a crucial and underserved need among homebuilders and landlords to be able to effortlessly communicate with residents in their native language,” said Spaciable Founder and CEO David Graydon.

Another key consideration for homebuilders and housing providers is community-building. As an important factor in enhancing ESG credentials, increasing referrals, and, for landlords, driving renewals, fostering a strong sense of community is increasingly vital in property development.

Based on trends from the 2011 and 2021 Census of England and Wales, it is projected that by 2031, approximately 10% of the UK population will not speak English as their main language. This underscores the need for housing providers to communicate clearly with their residents, irrespective of language barriers, and highlights the challenge in building inclusive and supportive communities.

Head of Partnerships at Spaciable, Oscar Mardell, highlighted how Spaciable’s Languages feature addresses the importance of community:

“Spaciable not only improves operational efficiency, but also takes a holistic approach to resident engagement. This means empowering residents and helping them make the most of their surroundings. Modern life can often feel isolating—so much so that 15% of tenants in the social sector report feeling lonely often or always. For tenants who may not speak fluent English, this feeling can be heightened when they struggle to engage with their local community. Through the Spaciable Living app, tenants can now translate messages written in English by their housing provider or neighbours into their native language, helping them become more involved in community matters and events such as running clubs, barbecues, and more.”

Feature Overview:

Languages

  • Residents can select their preferred language for the Spaciable Living dashboard, including features like facility booking, parcel management, defect reporting, FAQs, and much more.
  • Residents can translate individual messages and notifications written by their housing provider or neighbours into their native language.

What This Achieves:

  • Stronger communication from housing providers, increasing customer satisfaction, referrals, and renewals
  • Improved site safety through the accuracy of information
  • More inclusive communities and lower reports of loneliness

The Languages feature can be accessed by homebuilders and landlords signing up to Spaciable Living. Languages currently available include Polish, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Spanish, and French, with additional languages being added.
