The Korea Mobile Game Association (KMGA) and Punkvism have officially announced the establishment of a Blockchain Game Accelerating Consortium, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the Web3 gaming ecosystem in South Korea and fostering innovation in blockchain-based gaming.
This consortium is a joint effort between KMGA, led by Chairman Sungik Hwang, and Punkvism, led by CEO Hyunki Hwang, along with various industry partners. The primary goal is to provide comprehensive support for blockchain game developers, helping them build competitive projects that can succeed in the global gaming market.
Punkvism is a company dedicated to constructing a global digital ecosystem by integrating blockchain technology, NFTs, RWAs (Real World Assets), gaming, and entertainment industries. Through various Web3.0 initiatives, Punkvism is actively developing innovative business models that can reshape the future of digital ownership, gaming economies, and content monetization.
By launching this Web3 Game Accelerating Consortium, KMGA and Punkvism will create an ecosystem that nurtures blockchain game development by providing technical, legal, financial, and strategic support to startups and emerging developers. This initiative supports South Korean game companies in expanding globally by equipping blockchain-based projects with the resources needed to succeed in a competitive market.
The Web3 Game Accelerating Consortium will offer specialized consulting services tailored to blockchain game development and operations. The initiative will also assist startups and emerging gaming companies by providing legal, accounting, and publishing expertise to navigate the complex regulatory landscape of blockchain-based gaming.
Additionally, the consortium will focus on establishing sustainable business models utilizing game IPs and NFTs, allowing developers to explore new monetization strategies and Web3 economic models. By leveraging NFT technology, developers can enhance user engagement, introduce innovative in-game assets, and create decentralized gaming experiences that are in line with the principles of Web3.0.
One of the core missions of the consortium is to help South Korean blockchain game developers expand into overseas markets by providing them with global networking opportunities and industry partnerships. The initiative will connect local developers with international blockchain gaming projects, Web3 investors, and gaming platforms to ensure broader market access and greater visibility.
Furthermore, the consortium will actively pursue investment opportunities and long-term collaborations to accelerate the adoption of blockchain-based games in the mainstream market. By working closely with industry leaders, the consortium aims to position South Korea as a key player in the global blockchain gaming landscape.
Chairman Sungik Hwang of the Korea Mobile Game Association emphasized that the consortium would play a vital role in strengthening South Korea’s competitive edge in blockchain gaming. He highlighted that active participation and collaboration among developers, investors, and gaming industry stakeholders will be essential for the success of Web3 gaming in the country.
Hyunki Hwang, CEO of Punkvism, expressed his confidence in the future of blockchain gaming and its seamless integration with traditional gaming models. He stated:
