This week, Manila is celebrating pop culture in all its forms at the first NEXUS FAN FAIR. Organized by Philippine Blockchain Week 2023 (PBW), the NEXUS FAN FAIR is uniting fandoms in a celebration of gaming, music, entertainment and technology from Sept. 19-21 at the Newport World Resorts’ Marriott Grand Ballroom MGBX Convention Hall.
The expo features a wide variety of merchant booths with all sorts of games, collectibles and other merchandise on sale. A community stage hosts presentations and panel discussions with a number of other leading influencers, artists and celebrities, as well as Meet-and-Greets for the fans. There are also exciting collectible giveaways exclusive to this event that only lucky ticket-holders have a chance of taking home, and attendees can expect to see many cosplayers decked out in impressive pop culture costumes.
NEXUS FAN FAIR is presented by Tier One Entertainment, a leading esports and gaming-oriented entertainment agency in Southeast Asia (SEA) since 2017. Tier One signs top gaming talents and supports them with a platform and distribution network to grow their brand. Tier One maintains the world renowned Blacklist International esports team, who are present at the expo along with other top Tier One gaming influencers Sharlene San Pedro, Aerial Anne Garcia, Bulldog, Rojean delos Reyes, Seyrah, Elie Gaming and Kay Ann Monslave.

A NEXUS FAN FAIR tie-in event at Philippine Blockchain Week 2023 will feature a K-Pop concert by TripleS sub-unit EVOLution, who are making their SEA debut on Sept. 21. EVOLution concert ticket-holders will also receive free tickets to the NEXUS FAN FAIR as a special promotion, so fans are advised to purchase their tickets early. EVOLution’s SEA concert follows hot on the heels of their sister sub-unit LOVElution’s debut album, marking an exciting expansion for TripleS and their fans.
In addition to a plethora of talks and panel discussions featuring executives from top Philippine and international blockchain companies, Philippine Blockchain Week 2023 has a VC-startup matchmaking event hosted by serial entrepreneur and television personality John Aguilar, in which blockchain projects compete for a spot on the next season of The Final Pitch, CNN Philippines’ first business reality TV show.
Also gracing Philippine Blockchain Week 2023 is an exhibit of haute couture gowns by internationally-renowned Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco. Designs by Cinco have been worn by many of the world’s most rich and famous people, including royalty and celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna, Steve Aoki, Britney Spears, Nick Jonas and Kylie Minogue. On the eve of the blockchain conference (Sept. 18), Cinco is also holding the Philippines’ first-ever metaverse fashion gala, complete with dual physical/virtual catwalks and limited edition NFTs. Collectors can also find Cinco signature gowns available for purchase.
