IIHF World Juniors Live Schedule and Updates 2022

Due to COVID-19, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship had to be canceled in December. The tournament will resume on Aug. 9, in Edmonton, Alberta. It will conclude on Aug. 20, with the gold-medal, bronze-medal, and silver-medal games.

Nine of the 10 teams from the previous event will return, including the Czech Republic and Canada, as well as the Czech Republic, Finland. The Czech Republic, Finland. Germany. Slovakia. Sweden. Switzerland. Because of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine, the Russian team has been expelled. Latvia will replace it in Group A.

Christmas will arrive early this year with the 2022 edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship set to take place in august. This tournament is usually held the day after Christmas, but was cancelled in December by COVID-19. It will be resumed this summer.

The tournament’s 10-team format will be completely new, with new rosters and teams, as well as a new schedule. The winter results will not be carried over to summer so everything can be flushed away starting in December.

After defeating Canada in 2022’s gold medal game, the United States are the tournament’s defending champions. This was the fifth consecutive World Junior championship victory for the United States.

When will the 2022 World Juniors begin?

  • Start date: Tuesday, Aug. 9
  • End Date: Saturday Aug. 20

The IIHF has rescheduled the tournament for August 2022 after it was cancelled in December 2021. It will begin on August 9th and last 12 days, until it ends on August 20th.
