How to Record A Part of Screen on Windows?

Interested in using a screen recorder for PC Perhaps you do remote works who has to record your screen for a presentation, a YouTuber who’s making a how-to video, or a normal guy who wants to share a valuable video clip on YouTube with your friends and coworkers. Microsoft Windows includes the ability to record your screen activity, and third-party screen-capture software is also ready to aid you in this effort. Below is a tip to get you started.

Xbox Game Bar

Game Bar is a feature of Windows 10 that allows you to record games that you play on your PC or that you stream from an Xbox console. It can simply collect screen activity from other programs. To enable the Xbox Game Bar, navigate to Settings > Gaming > Xbox Game Bar and turn the Enable Xbox Game Bar switch on.

You can also change the keyboard shortcuts for opening the Game Bar, taking a screenshot, and recording a video from this screen. You can also activate the Game Bar by pressing the Xbox button on your Xbox Controller while connected to your PC.

You’ll be able to record activity in most applications and windows using the tool.  To open Game Bar, go to the screen you want to record and click Win + G. On the screen, there are several Game Bar widgets with buttons for taking screenshots, recording video and audio, and broadcasting your screen activities.

To record your screen activity, click the Start Recording button or utilize the Win + Alt + R keyboard shortcut. Now you can capture whatever screen actions you desire. The Game Bar widgets disappear once you click on the screen, and are replaced by a little floating bar in the upper-right corner of the screen that allows you to control the recording.

Click the Recording button on the floating bar to end the recording. When the recording is finished, you’ll receive a notification that the game clip has been recorded. To see your video on the Game Bar, click the notification. To see the video, use the Play button.

You can also view and play your video from its default location: C:\Users\username\Videos\Captures. Your videos will be saved as an MP4 file, which you can then share wherever you choose.

If you go to Settings > Gaming > Captures, you can adjust the Game Bar. You can modify the default file location for your movies, enable background recording to catch activities after the fact, choose to record video and audio, and change the frame rate between 30 and 60 frames per second from here.

iTop Screen Recorder

The program uses GPU acceleration to make the recording process go as smoothly as possible. Videos are captured at the highest available frame rate, and the output video will be of the highest possible quality. Below is how to use it.

  1. Go to the official iTop website to download and install the program. You can upgrade to the Pro edition remove the iTop Screen Recorderwatermark and access the GPU acceleration recording.  
  2. Open the program, select the region of the screen you want to capture, and then press the REC button on the panel. You can draw on the recording, highlight it, and take screenshots during the recording.
  3. Press the Speaker, Microphone, Webcam, and Mouse buttons to include sounds and your face in your recording. You can record webcam video, microphone audio, and system sound using iTop Screen Recorder.
  4. To end the recording, press the Stop button or use a hotkey. In My Creations tab, you can trim the video, add music, subtitles, and filters to your video, as well as save it in any supported format.
