Haripur: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has honoured Haripur-based youth activist Hassan Nisar with the Youth Excellence Award in recognition of his contribution to education, youth development and skills-based initiatives across the province.
The award was presented by Taj Muhammad Tarand, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, at a ceremony held at Sahibzada Abdul Qayum Hall, University of Peshawar.
The ceremony was organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Asif, Director Youth Affairs Abbas Khan Afridi, Deputy Director Youth Affairs Atifa Yousafzai, government officials, students, entrepreneurs and youth representatives attended the event.
Hassan Nisar founder Metrix Pakistan, a native of Khanpur in Haripur, has been involved in youth development and educational initiatives since 2022. His work has included programmes focused on education, digital skills, technology, entrepreneurship and professional development for young people across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Through youth and educational programmes, training sessions, workshops and seminars, thousands of young people have been engaged in skills development and learning opportunities, particularly in areas where access to such programmes remains limited.
The initiatives have covered areas including digital marketing, blockchain, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies, with activities conducted in several districts of the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Taj Muhammad Tarand appreciated the contribution of young people working for education, skills development and community advancement, and highlighted the importance of creating greater opportunities for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Asif and Director Youth Affairs Abbas Khan Afridi also acknowledged the importance of youth-led initiatives aimed at education, skills development and community engagement.
Speaking on the occasion, Hassan Nisar said the award was an honour and recognition of his efforts for the development of young people. He said he would continue contributing towards education, skills development and greater opportunities for youth across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
