Ethereum News: Two Layer-2 Networks Shut Down as Remittix Builds Wallet, PayFi, Markets and Earn Together

Ethereum news has exposed an economic challenge beneath the layer-2 expansion. Blast announced it would wind down, and Pudgy Penguins-backed Abstract followed with a planned December 15 closure. Both networks brought users and transactions, yet struggled with the costs and income needed to sustain their chains. Ethereum itself remains operational, but the shutdowns have made investors ask a sharper question of every crypto venture: what will make customers return, and how will the platform support itself?

Remittix is assembling customer-facing products instead of launching another layer-2 network. Its wallet, live Markets venue, PayFi testing and upcoming Earn service cover different tasks in one app. The project has announced November 24 for RTX’s debut. For buyers, the interesting possibility is that a customer who arrives to trade or hold assets might later need a bank transfer and stay within the ecosystem.

Ethereum News: What the Blast and Abstract Closures Show

A report on Abstract’s wind-down described it as the second Ethereum-linked network to announce a shutdown within days. Abstract had processed hundreds of millions of transactions, but the income earned by the chain did not match the economic weight of applications using it. Blast had likewise cited operating costs above network revenue.

The lesson is not that all Ethereum scaling networks face the same fate. It is that headline wallet counts and transaction totals do not automatically support a standalone business. Ethereum still has a large and diverse layer-2 ecosystem, with developers and users able to move to other networks. Investors will be watching which operators can sustain liquidity and activity as competition becomes more demanding.

Remittix Puts Several Products on One Customer Journey

Remittix PayFi is designed to convert supported crypto into fiat delivered through compatible bank routes. One thousand existing RTX holders have been invited to test EUR and USD options. A worker paid from overseas may have that transfer need every month, giving a successful app a route to recurring activity.

The Remittix platform also has an iOS wallet with more than 10,000 reported downloads and Markets with over $50 million in cumulative trading volume. Earn is approaching release with a stated target above 20% APY for supported assets. A trading customer can use the wallet and later PayFi; a payment customer may explore trading or Earn. Each additional useful task could deepen a relationship that began with a single download.

Remittix reports more than 40,000 presale participants and over $32 million raised toward a $36 million cap. That community is the starting audience, while international payments and crypto trading are much larger markets. Repeat customers outside the initial holder base would show that the connected products can grow as a business rather than simply as a launch campaign.

The Question RTX Can Answer After Launch

The two layer-2 closures put sustainable activity at the centre of the crypto conversation. Remittix has a planned $0.46 final presale stage and announced November 24 debut after wallet downloads, trading volume and an invited payment test have given buyers tangible signals. The next milestone is whether users keep returning as access widens.

Explore Remittix’s products and current RTX allocation while the PayFi cohort tests the flow. If one app becomes a place customers hold, trade, earn and move money, its long-term audience could extend far beyond the first 40,000 participants.
