CYBERSIGHT Launches Z1 Audio Sunglasses on Kickstarter With Speed-Adaptive Sound for Cyclists and Runners

Z1 combines sports sunglasses and open-ear audio in a single Z-shaped frame, with sound that adjusts to the wearer’s pace, a four-microphone call system and prescription lens options, starting at USD 129.
SINGAPORE, October 29, 2026. CYBERSIGHT, a Singapore-based smart sports eyewear brand, has launched Z1 on Kickstarter. Z1 is a pair of audio sunglasses built for cycling, running and outdoor training, with open-ear speakers integrated into the frame. Early backers can reserve a pair at the Super Early Bird price of USD 129, including shipping and taxes, which is 32% below the planned retail price of USD 189.
Many athletes still wear two separate devices on their heads during a workout. Sunglasses press against earbuds or headphone bands, earbuds loosen with sweat and motion, and constant adjustments interrupt the session. Closed earbuds also block traffic and other surrounding sounds, which can be a safety concern on open roads.
Z1 is designed to replace that setup with one product. The sunglasses deliver music, calls and audio guidance through the temples while leaving the ear canals open, so wearers can still hear what is happening around them. CYBERSIGHT describes the design as its Sports Acoustic Architecture, an approach in which the frame shape, fit and sound system are developed together rather than as separate parts.
At the center of that design is the Z-shaped temple. The angled section works as a wind deflector, directing airflow backward and away from the ear canal to reduce wind noise at cycling and running speeds. A lowered portion of the temple places the speaker closer to the ear, allowing sound to be directed into the ear without covering it. The same geometry changes how the frame rests on the head, moving contact points and spreading force across the frame to reduce pressure on the nose pads and behind the ears during longer sessions.
Z1 also adjusts its sound in real time. With SpeedSync Audio, enabled through the CYBERSIGHT app, the glasses raise volume and rebalance the sound as the wearer speeds up, keeping music audible over the wind. When the wearer slows down or stops, the volume lowers automatically, making it easier to talk with training partners without touching the controls.
A real-time adaptive EQ tunes the audio curve during movement to keep bass full at speed. For calls, Z1 uses a hybrid four-microphone array. Each temple contains one air-conduction microphone, which picks up surrounding noise so it can be reduced, and one bone-conduction sensor, which captures the vibrations of the wearer’s voice. Working together, the microphones are intended to reduce the effect of wind and ambient noise so the person on the other end of the call can hear the wearer more clearly.
Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.1 with Multipoint support. Z1 can stay connected to a smartphone and a compatible smartwatch at the same time and switch between them automatically. A wearer listening to music from a watch can take an incoming phone call and return to the music when the call ends, without re-pairing or switching sources manually. Through the connected phone, Z1 can also play workout cues from compatible fitness apps and give access to Siri or Gemini.
Key features include:
- Z-shaped aero temples: An angled temple design that deflects wind away from the ear canal and positions the speakers close to the ear for directional open-ear audio.
- SpeedSync Audio: Automatic volume and sound-balance adjustment based on the wearer’s speed, available through the CYBERSIGHT app, with real-time EQ tuning for fuller bass while moving.
- Balanced Z-frame fit: A redistributed load path that reduces pressure on the nose pads and behind the ears.
- Hybrid four-microphone array: Two air-conduction microphones and two bone-conduction sensors for clearer calls in windy conditions.
- Bluetooth 6.1 Multipoint: Simultaneous connection to a phone and a smartwatch, with automatic switching between music and calls.
- Sport lenses: Covestro Makrolon LQ-grade optical polycarbonate lenses that are impact-resistant and shatterproof, with UV400 protection.
- Multi-layer lens coatings: A REVO coating for UV400 protection, infrared reduction and glare control, plus hard coatings for scratch resistance, hydrophobic coatings that repel water and oil, and an anti-reflective coating.
- Lens options: High-contrast and photochromic lenses for different outdoor light conditions.
- Prescription support: One-piece prescription sport lenses or a removable Rx insert, with correction up to 6.00D, made with Mitsui Chemicals MR-7 ultra-thin optical resin.
- Battery life: Up to 6 hours of playback at 70% volume.
- Durability: IP54 dust and splash resistance for outdoor use.
- Controls: Physical buttons and touch controls for volume, music playback and calls.
- Colorways: Black and white frames with wraparound sports lenses.
The lens system is a central part of the product. Z1’s base lens uses Covestro Makrolon LQ polycarbonate, a material chosen for optical clarity and impact resistance. Layered coatings on both sides of the lens address the conditions athletes face outdoors, including glare, scratches, sweat, rain and reflections. High-contrast lenses are offered for bright, consistent sunlight, while photochromic lenses adjust to changing light.
Prescription support is another focus. Athletes who need vision correction can choose between direct one-piece prescription sport lenses and a removable Rx insert that fits behind the main lens. Both options support correction up to 6.00D. The prescription lenses use Mitsui Chemicals MR-7 resin, which CYBERSIGHT says provides clear, edge-to-edge vision without blind spots or peripheral distortion.
Z1 is aimed at road cyclists, runners, hikers and other outdoor athletes who want sun protection and audio in one device. It is also intended for people who train near traffic and prefer to keep their ears open, and for glasses wearers who have had limited options in audio eyewear.
Campaign and Availability
The Kickstarter campaign marks CYBERSIGHT’s return to the platform. In 2025, the company ran a campaign for Zenith, its HUD sports glasses that display real-time sports and navigation data in the wearer’s field of view. According to CYBERSIGHT, that campaign raised USD 817,746 from more than 2,100 backers, with products delivered to more than 60 countries. The company launched Zenith in June 2025 and followed it with Zenith Pro in May 2026. Kickstarter has selected the Z1 campaign as a Project We Love.
The Super Early Bird reward includes the Z1 Audio Sunglasses, a protective carrying case and additional accessories. It is limited to 2,000 units. Pledges on the campaign page are processed in Singapore dollars, while campaign images list prices in US dollars. CYBERSIGHT estimates worldwide shipping will begin in December 2026. Each pair is covered by a one-year global warranty.
CYBERSIGHT Z1 is available to back on Kickstarter now at the Super Early Bird price of USD 129, including shipping and taxes. Backers can view the campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cybersight/cybersight-z1-audio-sunglasses-built-for-sports.
