The xPortal app, a digital wallet & global payments application that has already garnered more than 200,000 followers on Twitter, nearly 23,000 followers on Facebook, and more than 5,000 followers on Instagram, is coming live in the next few days. It reimagines the way consumers interact with money, allowing them to exchange and securely store crypto on their mobile phones.
The transformation of Maiar into Xportal will expand its features and scope. xPortal will work as a gateway to the multiverse and a go-to super app for the web3. The one-stop-shop facilities that Maier used to offer for managing finances will remain, while xPortal enhances the user experience by incorporating social interactions and offering access to an array of digital worlds.
According to Beniamin Mincu, the CEO of MultiversX Labs, the company behind xPortal app, the Super App’s ambition is that “everyone, no matter where they are or what their background is, should have easy access to secure and efficient financial services that can help them achieve their goals and live their best lives.”
Before delving deeper into what else xPortal is set to introduce with its launch on the coming February 28th, let’s have a quick look at the xPortal launch championship.
The xPortal Launch Championship
Registering to xPortal with an e-mail address and phone number and installing the app once it is launched on February 28th, 2023, would make users eligible for a MultiversX Metal Card and chances to win prizes that include a pool of 900 Electronic Gold (EGLD) tokens and Swag Bags.
MultiversX, a blockchain protocol, is known for its immensely fast transaction speed. The Smart Contracts execution platform from MultiversX can carry out 15,000 transactions per second, with six-second latency and a transaction cost of $0.001.
EGLD tokens that MultiversX uses to reward its community and active participants are currently available for US$50. It witnessed an all-time high of US$542.58 on November 23rd, 2021.
While the potentially high rewards of the EGLD token are an enticing onboarding incentive, there are many more things that xPortal has to offer.
xPortal: ‘The Home of Your Avatar’
The catchphrase of xPortal, ‘The Home of Your Avatar,’ indicates the portal’s approach toward its UX. And for everything built in the blockchain, xPortal will feature its user’s avatar not only for financial operations like swaps, portfolio management, and cards but also for friends, chat, and social. It will also offer an array of decentralized applications for consumers to play with in different forms.
With the help of a few clicks, one will be able to send and receive money, crypto, and NFTs, make payments, and more. It will also be possible to leverage the app with a debit card. It will help track investments and explore the financial, crypto, and NFTs ecosystems.
According to Sergiu Biris, the Head of Products, MultiversX Labs, “xPortal’s ability to make Web3 and the Metaverse accessible to any smartphone user in the world shifts the entire conversation around all-accessible digital experiences from a distant vision of the future into a reality today.”
When it comes to security, Maiar already has a robust mechanism in place, and xPortal is expected to move forward with it. It includes a digital identity layer that begins with service mapping the phone number to a wallet address while preserving privacy and allowing users to send money to friends and family via their address book.
The system also approaches security through a process called progressive security, where users gradually receive suggestions proportional to the assets they store. The thumb rule here is: the more one uses the app, the more sophisticated the security features become.
While the app’s first iteration gained more than 1.1 million users in just over a year, the xPortal app aims to onboard one billion users to an exhaustive bouquet of useful services, experiences, and applications for digital finance, web3, and Metaverse.
