When To Unclog The Drain With Drain Augers

If your kitchen sink smells bad, cannot drain, or drains very slowly, there may be a clog in the sink drain. You have to deal with it as soon as possible. How? Drain auger at your rescue! Otherwise, your kitchen could be facing a disaster. A clogged kitchen sink makes the kitchen inconvenient to clean, hence use professional drain augers. This guide will provide several ways to unclog your kitchen sink with a drain auger.

Why drain auger?

Often, leftover food is the leading cause of blockage. Because drain pipes are small and have a lot of bends, hard debris like bone is hard to get out in time, making the clog worse over time. In addition, the increase of residual oil and grease on the inner wall makes the pipe smaller and smaller, which causes slow drainage of the sump.

Could the drain clog problem be due to something stuck in the pipes? Very likely, but it all comes down to the situation when unclogging drains with a drain auger. The type of clog provides clues as to the location and determines the best way to unclog the drain. Here’s how to use your drain auger to remove the obstruction.

Hair clogs usually form around the plug mechanism in the first vertical section. If water collects rapidly every time you use the drain, the problem is likely located near the drain opening in the bathtub or sink. To unclog a drain where hair is the culprit, get drain augers.

Most clogs in the “trap” (the second horizontal, U-shaped section) are due to foreign objects clogging the drain pipe. In this case, the thing will have to be extracted. Here’s how to clean a trap with a drain auger.

First, before you start to unscrew the pipe, ensure there is no drain product residue in the pipe. If a drain product was used, flush with at least three gallons of water, but continue to be very careful when handling the pipe as it may still contain residue from the pipe cleaner.

Then put on rubber gloves. Place a bucket under the pipe to catch the water. You are now ready to unscrew the slide nuts on each side of the trap (or remove the cleanout plug, if present). Let the water drain into the bucket.

When you’re done, reassemble the trap and run hot water down the sink to clean out any remaining gunk. Clogs can also be caused by buildup in the third lateral section of the pipe. A drain auger is adequate for these types of clogs.

Drain augers can efficiently perform this function, leaving the drain free of obstructions, disinfected and without foul odors. It is a simple, fast and safe solution. You can read or understand the manual, but if that doesn’t go well, call a professional to use a drain auger. This formula can save you time and, above all, money since the ingredients used are pervasive. We have products on hand that are safe and affordable.

What are you going to need before getting started with the drain auger?

Make sure to clean and clear the drain with 1/2 cup of vinegar and half a box of baking soda. Careful! The combination of both products usually causes a foamy reaction that will gradually disappear.

Pour down the spout, at the same time, 1/2 cup of vinegar and half a box of baking soda.

Put the cap on quickly.

Wait about 30 minutes until the effervescence passes.

Remove the stopper and pour boiling water into the sink, allowing the water to flow freely.

If you see that it has not worked, repeat the process.

This procedure fulfils the role of washing and disinfecting the pipes, eliminating foul odors. Do this process once a week to disinfect it and prevent dirt from accumulating. In this way, you will get your sink clean inside and out. However, if you still can’t see any changes or there is a constant overflow, call a professional with a drain auger
