Web3-Enabled Voucher Program On Avalanche

Alipay+ D-Store, a system that offers merchants a full-stack online tool, has collaborated with Avalanche, a smart contract blockchain platform. According to a blog post on Avalanche.com, Alipay+ D-Store has launched today a Web3-enabled coupon programme through a branded mini-game, facilitated by a partner in Southeast Asia.

TakeAway Points:

  • Alipay+ D-Store partners with the Avalanche blockchain to launch a Web3-enabled voucher program.
  • Avalanche stated that the vouchers aim to give companies like Alipay access to Web3-powered products.
  • Voucher holders can earn up to 50% discounts on milk teas across ten popular milk tea brands at over 500 shops.

Web3-enabled Voucher Program

The vouchers are powered by an Avalanche Subnet created and maintained by its blockchain service, AvaCloud. Avalanche claims that the vouchers are intended to give companies like Alipay access to Web3-powered products. Avalanche wrote:

“The POC will allow brands like Alipay+ D-store to test Web3 solutions, including how they can help merchants foster new forms of interaction with users, helping retain them and generate new revenue streams.”

Users can receive discounts of up to 50% on milk teas from ten well-known milk tea brands at more than 500 stores when they access the vouchers, according to Avalanche. More than 2,000 additional shops intend to join the programme; it was also mentioned.

The recently introduced voucher programme is the first of two phases in the proof-of-concept (POC) initiative. Phase two will extend the proof-of-concept to more than 100 million consumers and concentrate on food and beverage retailers. The implementation is intended primarily for travellers visiting the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and China.

Specifically, the POC’s implementation gives the Avalanche blockchain a new direction and should draw additional users into its ecosystem. Users view this as a critical component in the development and sustainability of the technology, as it brings the adoption of blockchain-enabled applications even closer to the public.

Avalanche Previous Collaboration

However, in 2024, Avalanche collaborated with well-known brands to expand its ecosystem. The smart contract platform and SI Tickets, Sports Illustrated’s ticketing division, teamed up on February 20.

Through the partnership, Avalanche was able to host Box Office, the nonfungible token (NFT) ticketing platform for SI Ticket. This indicates that the Avalanche network is now where the NFT tickets on the platform are minted.

Additionally, the proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain has entered the gaming industry. Avalanche revealed on March 11 that MapleStory, a well-known massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), will enter an Avalanche subnet and provide gamers with opportunities to create content.

Furthermore, AVAX, the native cryptocurrency of the Avalanche blockchain, has been steadily rising since the start of 2024. The blockchain token had a 140% increase in less than two months, rising from $27.21 on January 23 to $65.38 as of March 18. As of this writing, AVAX was trading at $51.90, having slightly reversed course after a massive sell-off in the broader cryptocurrency market. The information comes from TradingView.

The POC will enable companies like Alipay+ D-store to test Web3 solutions, including how they may assist retailers in fostering new kinds of customer interaction, according to the novel blockchain’s team. They will also be able to retain current revenue sources and create new ones.
