Vtiger open-source Installation Guide:

Once you have checked for the above-mentioned requisites, it’s time to start the actual qinstallation process. To install Vtiger follow the following steps.

Step 1:

Downloading Vtiger 

To start with, you have to download Vtiger on your device. Vtiger can be downloaded directly from their source forge website. Go to this website and follow the following steps.

  1. Click on the Files Button.
  2. On the screen, click on the version you want to download (most preferably the 7.4 version)
  3. A tar.gz file will be downloaded to your system
  4. Extract the tar.gz file.

Creating and setting up a Database

Now, you have to create a new database for Vtiger to store all the related information and data. To create a new database for Vtiger follow the following steps.

  1. Go to the C panel, Go to the database section, and select MySQL database.
  2. Click on Create New Database Button.
  3. Give a name to your Database ( Ensure to save it)
  4. Press Create Database.

After creating a database, the next step is to create a user to give access to change the database information. It is recommended to create a new user for each database instead of using a non-root user. Follow these steps.

  1. Enter your Username and password.
  2. Click on Create User.
  3. Assign the user to this database by clicking on Add user to Database and grant all privileges.

 

Step 3:

Uploading files

After creating a database for your Vtiger, it’s time to upload Vtiger files. For that follow the following simple steps.

  1. Go to the main screen in your C panel account.
  2. Search for the files section.
  3. Click on File Manager
  4. On the File Manager screen upload the files.
  5. Click on the browse button on top of the screen.
  6. Now select the files and click on the Extract button to extract the files.
  7. A new Vtiger directory has been created.

 

Step 4:

Vtiger Installation

The last and most important step is to Install Vtiger. For that first open your web browser and navigate to the base URL. Now, set the following things.

  1. On the Installation Wizard screen, Click Install to proceed.
  2. Read the agreement, and click I Agree.
  3. Check for PHP configurations.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Database information section enter your MySQL credentials.
  6. Set default currency.
  7. Enter the required information in the Admin User Information block and click Next.
  8. Confirm your configuration settings and click Next.
