BAY AREA, CALIFORNIA – Dedicated students at the forefront of combating climate change have established a community-driven organization, leveraging modernized technology.
In the heart of Silicon Valley, high school senior Ishaan Gupta has turned his passion for technology into action. Over the past year, he has founded Envirology, the largest youth-led non-profit dedicated to advocating for and educating students around the globe in environmental technology.
Founding Envirology
Ishaan’s vision for Envirology is both ambitious and impactful. “A defining aspect of our organization is the unique approach to how we educate youth—our actions are engaging rather than sedentary.”
Project Advocacy
One of Envirology’s major accomplishments is the launch of the advocacy channel, a virtual platform that connects youth passionate about environmental technology through engaging videos. Across over 8,000 followers internationally on all platforms, Envirology has provided nearly 40,000 youth education on envirotech topics. These youth not only receive key knowledge but also join a network of thousands of Envirology members, all committed to learning and advancing in the envirotech industry.
The success of these projects has been astounding. Other notable feats include the founding of JournalX, focusing on identifying and solving international crises. The latest project under Envirology features youth developing a Machine Learning model to track piracy in the Middle East.
Looking ahead, Envirology’s primary goal is to provide quality education. “We’re extremely thankful for the mentorship from sustainable corporations like Engie and partnerships with organizations like the Delhi Institute of Advanced Studies. Without their guidance, none of this valuable education would have been possible”.
Leveraging digital education platforms such as YouTube & TikTok, alongside virtual lessons, Envirology seeks to revolutionize young people’s perspectives on environmental issues and the technological tools available to combat global warming.
“It’s up to our generation to create the change that politicians, world leaders, and researchers call for. Envirology is a reflection of young conservationists’ impatience, waiting for change that isn’t happening,” shares Ruhi Abrol, the Director of Programs at the non-profit.
Envirology’s innovative approach and leadership demonstrate the power and potential of youth in tackling one of the world’s most pressing issues.
