If land conversion and GHG emissions are not decreased by 2030, limiting global warming to 2°C over pre-industrial levels, as envisioned in the 2015 Paris climate accord, would be unachievable. Furthermore, even a 1.5°C increase would represent a severe threat to the planet’s biodiversity, hastening the sixth mass extinction that is currently occurring. The quality of life for all animals, including humans, will deteriorate as ecosystems degrade.
Concord Blue Energy, a waste-to-hydrogen technology company, plans to invest $600 million in expanding in Germany, which is pushing to replace renewable energy with Russian gas to meet climate change targets. Transforming waste into high-quality rich syngas
Concord Blue uses steam thermolysis to transform trash into high-quality hydrogen-rich syngas. This is accomplished by deploying a system that depends on heat transmission from carrier materials (ceramic beads) rather than incineration, avoiding various negative repercussions associated with garbage burning. Steam thermolysis is a thermochemical process that degrades the organic matrix of a composite material by using superheated water vapor at atmospheric pressure.
