The world has arrived at a fork in the path. Our planet’s – and hence our own – future is at risk. Humanity has gone too far in its chase of wealth. Research shows that we have transformed over 75% of the world’s ice-free territory. Moreover, half of the planet’s livable surface is currently used to generate food, with wildlands accounting for less than a quarter of the total. The ocean is not faring much better. 90% of big fish have been taken from the water in the previous century, with 63% of populations overfished. We can no longer overlook the loss of natural areas or the threat of climate change as human-caused global warming accelerates.

If land conversion and GHG emissions are not decreased by 2030, limiting global warming to 2°C over pre-industrial levels, as envisioned in the 2015 Paris climate accord, would be unachievable. Furthermore, even a 1.5°C increase would represent a severe threat to the planet’s biodiversity, hastening the sixth mass extinction that is currently occurring. The quality of life for all animals, including humans, will deteriorate as ecosystems degrade.

Concord Blue Energy, a waste-to-hydrogen technology company, plans to invest $600 million in expanding in Germany, which is pushing to replace renewable energy with Russian gas to meet climate change targets. The business has two central offices, one each in the German city of Düsseldorf and the American city of Los Angeles, and it intends to construct five power plants in the industrial region of northwest Germany.

Conserving land and water by 2030

Although the objective appears enormous, conserving 30% of land and water by 2030 is well within reach. Skeptics will argue that we must exploit the land and oceans to feed the predicted ten billion people who will share the globe by 2050. The recommended safeguards are either too costly or too difficult to implement. However, research indicates that the 30% target is now possible utilizing existing technology within existing consumption patterns, assuming government and corporations’ policy, production, and expenditure changes.

The patented Concord Blue Reformer (CBR)

The patented Concord Blue Reformer (CBR) is the direct outcome of Charlie’s commitment to reducing environmental hazards by converting trash into sustainable energy. CBR can convert nearly any type of waste, including industrial waste, sewage sludge, hospital waste, and typical municipal solid waste, into nonpolluting renewable fuels (hydrogen and power). CBR is an ideal weapon for addressing three of the modern world’s most pressing needs: increasing energy production, meeting decarbonization objectives, and eliminating waste.

Transforming waste into high-quality rich syngas

Concord Blue uses steam thermolysis to transform trash into high-quality hydrogen-rich syngas. This is accomplished by deploying a system that depends on heat transmission from carrier materials (ceramic beads) rather than incineration, avoiding various negative repercussions associated with garbage burning. Concord Blue has offices in the United States, Germany, India, and Taiwan. Steam thermolysis is a thermochemical process that degrades the organic matrix of a composite material by using superheated water vapor at atmospheric pressure. When applied to carbon fiber composites, it produces three products: a permanent gaseous fraction, a condensed gaseous fraction, and recycled carbon fiber.
