Who is bttn?

bttn is the next-generation healthcare supplies distributor. We were created to save healthcare practitioners time, money, and effort on procuring medical supplies. We have built an e-commerce solution to support the needs of medical practitioners with a digital-first solution That brings much-needed transparency to medical supply transactions.

What is unique about bttn compared to other medical suppliers?

bttn is digital-first, offering amazing cost savings, and pricing transparency that simply does not exist from other providers. Medical practitioners and Healthcare Workers (HCW) simply check our website for the name brand, trusted products they need to keep their staff and patients safe. There is no need to qualify for an account, sign an exclusive contract or meet Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs).

What do you think the future of medical supply looks like in 3 years?

Just as every other element of healthcare has gone digital, from clinical trials to telehealth, so too will the acquisition of medical supplies. Consumers expect frictionless e-commerce transactions in their daily lives. Those same consumers are buyers for medical practices and expect frictionless e-commerce in their buying experience. They want to know how much products cost, when they will arrive, and the manufacturer that will be supplying the product. In three years, bttn will have tens of thousands of customers and all name brand product medical practitioners expect.

What segments does bttn support?

bttn has medical supply solutions for numerous practitioner types ranging from dermatologists, dentists, family practices, surgical centers, medical practices, home care, hospice, long-term care, acute care, and rural hospitals.

How can the healthcare industry overcome the many supply chain issues?

One of the most tangible steps the healthcare industry can take is to recognize the global nature of the supply chain. With that in mind, it is important to implement strong forecasting and planning. Just In Time inventory is unlikely for the foreseeable future. It is important to recognize that both geopolitical events and COVID-19 mitigation efforts will impact the supply chain now and in the future.

Take for example China’s Zero Covid Policy which is seeing large swaths of Shanghai on lockdown. The knock-on implication of that policy means there will be hold ups in ports across China in the weeks to come. While many manufacturers of items like American Nitrile gloves have announced plans to increase US based manufacturing, those investments will take time to come to fruition.

How much of an impact has COVID-19 had on the healthcare industry?

COVID-19 has had an immense impact on the healthcare industry. In the early days of the pandemic when all but critical care facilities were shuttered and there was a lack of PPE supplies to the lingering effects of HCW burnout, the impact of COVID was dramatic and ongoing.

Healthcare workers have shouldered an enormous burden over the past two years. HCWs are burned out and departing the field at high rates. Numerous facilities have adopted Patient Pledges that patients must sign in advance of receiving any type of treatment because incidents of violence toward caregivers have risen exponentially.

We recognize that HCWs are exhausted. We appreciate the efforts they have made to keep their communities and our loved ones safe and healthy. Our e-commerce solution for ordering medical supplies aims to decrease the stress and friction in one portion of their jobs – medical supply ordering.
