Clay Braswell is the CEO of Commit Good and a social entrepreneur working in the charitable space for over 15 years. His goal is to utilize technology to solve human needs, which we will see in his latest project; Commit Good. In this interview, Clay will be telling us more about Commit Good, his mission and the opportunities for everyone.
What is Commit Good?
Commit Good is a charitable resource platform that utilizes the blockchain and a digital currency. Our goal is to introduce charities to the blockchain along with helping them locate other resources like in-kind donations and volunteers (among other future enhancements).
Could you give us a brief analysis of the Charitable giving industry, why should the future of charity be on the blockchain?
The Charitable space is going to be one of the early success stories that will enable mainstream user adoption. The blockchain offers a new level of transparency that will benefit both donor and receiver and become the industry standard for charitable giving.
Tell us more about the technical side of your platform and the structure of your services.
As a whole, I would compare the current infrastructure of the blockchain to the early days of the internet when dial-up was the means of connecting. Enterprise level platforms such as Commit Good can’t efficiently perform as a true Dapp. So a large portion of the interaction between user and charity is off-chain combined with smart contract on-chain transactions.
What challenges have you faced working on this project so far?
I think the biggest challenge is all of the new terminologies – even tech-savvy people that are not working in the blockchain sector are unfamiliar with a lot of the new terms. This makes the on-boarding process even more difficult when working with charities that are generally late adopters.
What is the Currency of Good, how does it work and what value will it give to token holders?
The blockchain space has one general question as related to token value – “what’s your use case”? The Currency of Good represents one of the best uses of digital currency. From our previous experience, having a global donation platform was not possible due to the different regulations per country. The Currency of Good allows users to donate GOOD tokens to any charity anywhere in the world. We allow charities to post current projects and allow our user base to vote on the most impactful and they are rewarded with GOOD tokens.
Could you tell us more about the GOOD Tokens Distribution Event and how we can invest?
Because of the renewed level of oversight and legal compliance our offering is only available to accredited investors.
Do you have any major investors or partners you would like to share with us?
As of the time of this publication, I’m unable to mention major investors but we will make a major announcement within the coming weeks.
Tell us more about your team and the Committed Advisors?
We have a great mix of humanitarian and technology focused individuals on our team and advisors. Everyone is dedicated to the mission of utilizing technology to solve human needs.
The Crypto market requires a high level of security and legal compliance what are you doing about this to keep your investors safe?
In one aspect I think we have been more conservative than was required. The real issue is the lack of previous case law.
We have a great legal firm and security partner and have chosen not to play in any gray areas so that we keep our platform safe from legal issues or malicious attempts.
Do you have more information for our readers?
As mentioned, I have been in the charitable space for over 15 years and have seen the worst and best of society. It truly is an exciting time because a lot of the things we are developing and will roll-out in the very near future are things that were previously impossible until now/ the blockchain.
