I’m a big fan of apps and one of the biggest benefits in my opinion is how you can use them to improve and manage your health. If you’re someone who struggles to stay motivated with health-related goals, or someone who just enjoys the competitive nature of tracking all your milestones and watching your progress, there’s an app out there for you! Whether you’re grabbing your Badminton Racket and hitting the court, or looking to get into competitive sprinting, I’ve got a bunch of health-related apps that I’m sure will help you stay focused. Keep reading to learn more.
My Fitness Pal
This is one of those apps that has a big reputation and there’s a pretty good chance you’ve used it before. It can do a lot! You can use it to track your activity and the database it has is huge. Whether you’re playing badminton, running, or doing weights in the gym, it’s easy to track your calories burned. Another great feature of MyFitnessPal is how easy it is to track what you’re eating which makes it great if you’re doing some kind of macro-based diet. There are both free and premium options meaning that it’s a good fit no matter your budget.
Headspace
Have you tried meditating? I find it very difficult to meditate alone, so a meditation-based app that ‘guides’ the meditation works best for me. Headspace is one of the original meditation apps and what I love about it is there is a range of topics based on what you’d like to work on, which makes it easy to find the meditation that will help you the most at the moment you’re looking. If you’ve tried meditation before but it didn’t work out, give it another try with Headspace.
Group Apps
If you play a sport like badminton, then one of the biggest challenges can be managing your group. If you’re a coach or in a group, then something like SportEasy could be a great option for you. It allows you to plan your sessions, schedule events, and even allows you to keep an eye on your players’ attendance and practice time. This can make organizing your teams so much easier especially if you’re juggling a few at a time.
Sanvello
The pandemic did a number on many of us, impacting our overall mental health due to the various lockdowns, travel restrictions, and health worries. Maybe you even suffered a personal loss due to the pandemic, either someone you loved or your finances were dramatically impacted. From within the app, you can do so many things, from self-care, checking in, finding a therapist, coaching, or even peer support. This means it’s a one-stop shop for all the things you might need to help yourself feel better when you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or other circumstances that might otherwise be making your life feel more challenging.
We use apps for everything, from banking to photo editing. As far as I’m concerned, it makes sense to use them for our most important asset – our health! I hope these apps help you reach a new level of health and fitness you’ve never seen before.
