testFRWD Enters Into Partnership With Amadeus To Distribute Self-test Kits

Self-test Kits

It is the coming together of two heavyweights as testFRWD partners with Amadeus to grant global travelers seamless COVID self-testing. The partnership will enable Amadeus, a leading travel tech company, to distribute self-test kits for testFRWD’s identyME solution through its channels.

The partnership with Amadeus marks a fundamental milestone for our expansion and market reach,” said Andrea Marazzi, COO of testFRWD. “We are proud to be joining forces with the travel tech giant to give consumers a chance to travel with minimal friction or extra expenses. With identyME, they can do their tests anywhere, in any moment and let our system handle the rest.

One of the major challenges faced by millions of people across the globe, especially travelers, is testing for the COVID-19 virus. While several test kits have been developed by different brands worldwide, accessing the solutions remains a challenge for people. However, testFRWD seeks to change the narrative for travelers in different parts of the world following the signing of a partnership agreement with Amadeus.

testFRWD has grown in recent times to become one of the sought-after providers of testing kits, with the Austrian startup leveraging technology to provide AI-powered solutions for self-certifying COVID-19 tests. The recent partnership with Amadeus, the leading software provider for the travel industry, further reiterates the company’s goal of making testing easily accessible to as many people as possible worldwide. As part of the collaboration, Amadeus will be in charge of the distribution of identyME self-testing solution by testFRWD, leveraging its network to provide travelers with the option of purchasing a compatible test kit as they  book their tickets.

The partnership is particularly timely, as the world re-emerges from the pandemic-induced lockdown, with the travel industry looking to bounce back in 2022 even as experts raise concerns over new COVID variants on the revival of travel. The move will undoubtedly make the otherwise rigorous process of testing, which has become a crucial precondition for any further global reopening, relatively easy.

testFRWD will be bringing its identyME self-testing certification system to millions of travelers booking their planes, train, and ferry tickets at companies using Amadeus’s solutions through the partnership. The test kits, as well as all the necessary links and information, will be provided to travelers at the points of sale, ultimately ensuring a seamless user experience. It will also help travel companies and authorities to streamline the health controls and work as a remedy for the problem of counterfeit kits and certificates.

IdentyMe was developed as a digital certification and verification platform for at-home COVID-19 test kits with a robust API, allowing easy integration with any applications, entry control systems, or health certificates. The system operates based on artificial intelligence and biometric data to identify the user as they utilize the test kit without requiring a medical professional. The identyME-compatible antigen test kits have been certified for EU’s official Green Pass and the UK’s FLY2FLY travel testing systems. It is currently available in 26 EU member states and is now entering the U.S. market with the official launch in Maryland.
