Suede Opens Its Widely Anticipated SEO and AI Cohort

Author and speaker Jason Colapietro is opening Suede Labs AI’s next SEO and AI cohort, widely anticipated by readers of his books and businesses putting his open-source AI skills to work.

The new cohort brings search visibility, reputation and AI implementation together with something business owners have wanted for years: the ability to watch the work happen. Through Suede Agent Studio, clients can follow workflows in real time, inspect results and understand how the systems are being integrated into their businesses. Suede handles setup, operation and tuning, while clients retain visibility into the process.

For Colapietro, that visibility addresses a problem that polished agency websites and monthly reports can conceal: an owner still needs to know what changed, whether it works and how it helps the business.

“You can’t vibe code a decade of dedication in a discipline,” he says.

As creating a professional-looking SEO website becomes easier, Colapietro believes a practitioner’s history becomes more valuable. Published work, contributions others have reviewed and a reputation built through years of responsibility give customers something concrete to investigate.

His own record includes published books and software contributions accepted by maintainers of projects including Adobe’s React Spectrum and Backstage. Those contributions have public review histories that show the proposed work, the feedback and the changes accepted.

Colapietro sees the current market as a practical test of the concerns behind his book Proof as Infrastructure: Designing Durable Systems Without Trust Assumptions. When convincing claims are inexpensive to produce, evidence that survives inspection becomes more important. The principle now shapes how Suede presents its services and makes its work visible.

The next cohort extends that approach into customers’ operations. Search work can be connected with managed AI workflows for tasks such as lead qualification, call review and recurring business processes. Each engagement defines the work, its owner and the results being measured. Customers can examine execution and outputs as the system runs.

Suede is also opening free audit requests through the end of Monday, September 14, 2026, Eastern time. Business owners can submit their website and describe where progress has stalled.

For those who want to investigate independently, Colapietro’s current book, The Screenshot: Why AI Recommends Your Competitors, and How to Fix It, is available to read in full online, free and without an email address. It walks readers through examining AI recommendations, identifying visibility gaps and improving the information search and answer engines encounter.

Suede’s public website scanner provides another starting point. It checks publicly accessible pages and technical signals, including structured data, metadata and crawler access, then identifies failed checks and explains repairs. The audit is free, requires no website administrator access and currently uses an emailed code to unlock the report.

That public access reflects the thinking behind Suede Creator Skills, the reusable tools the company develops and maintains for SEO, AI visibility and business operations. Suede’s original work is MIT-licensed, with adapted components retaining their upstream credits and licenses. According to Colapietro, more than 40 companies known to Suede are building SEO businesses using the toolkit.

For owners questioning their current agency’s progress, Colapietro encourages a practical review: ask for dated changes, published improvements and measurable results. Search performance, website revisions and available configuration histories can help establish what was delivered and whether it supports the agency’s explanation.

“Too many people have taken advantage of business owners who are just trying to survive,” Colapietro says. “We live this stuff. Never hesitate to reach out with a question if your current firm doesn’t seem to be making progress.”

Paid cohort capacity may fill, but the invitation to ask for help extends beyond prospective clients. The book, public scanner and open-source tools give owners a way to begin examining their situation themselves.

Request a free audit before Monday’s deadline at Suede SEO.
