Stephen Wallick & Associates (SW&A) announced today that it had acquired Eric Tuthill CPA’s practice in Dickson, TN. Eric and his wife are expecting their first child and will be transitioning into a new opportunity within the area.
Tuthill received multiple offers but chose SW&A for their commitment to their clients, our community and the high level of service they provide to all of their clients.
This move comes just a month after Jonah Wallick announced opening his new Chattanooga, TN location, further expanding the family’s reach as tax professionals.
We sat down with Stephen Wallick and asked him a few questions about the acquisition and what it means for his clients.
Q: What made you decide to acquire Eric Tuthill CPA’s practice?
“We are always looking to expand our services and serve more of the people in Tennessee who need professional accounting help. When we heard that Eric was expecting his first child and transitioning into a new opportunity, we realized this was the perfect opportunity to acquire his practice,” said Wallick.
“I’ve known Eric for years and I’m excited to be able to offer his clients the same quality of service and expertise they’ve come to expect from him.”
Q: What services will you provide in the Dickson area?
“We’ll be providing the same full-service accounting, tax, and financial planning services that we offer in our other locations. We’ll also be offering IRS issue tax resolution and employee retention tax credits to individuals and businesses,” Stephen said.
Wallick added, “We’re committed to providing the highest quality services to our clients, and we look forward to making this transition as smooth as possible for Eric’s existing clients. Aside from different faces, they won’t notice too much of a difference in the services they receive from us.”
Q: How will the acquisition benefit your current clients?
“Much like Eric’s current clients, our current ones won’t see any difference in the services they receive from us. However, they will benefit from our expanded service area and increased capacity to serve clients in Dickson,” Stephen said.
Wallick adds, “We are excited to have the opportunity to serve more clients in Tennessee and look forward to building strong relationships with our new clients in Dickson.”

“Hmm, that’s a great question. Our main goal is to provide the highest quality services to our clients while expanding our service area and providing more value to our current clients,” Stephen said.

Q: What advice do you have for people looking to transition into a new career?
“I’d suggest researching your options and taking time to figure out the right path for you. It’s important to find something that will give you satisfaction and joy. Take your time, be patient, and make sure you’re making the right decision for you,” Stephen said.
Q: What advice would you give someone looking for an accounting firm?
“Make sure to do your research and find an accounting firm that will meet your needs. Look for a firm with experience, expertise, and a commitment to delivering top-quality services. You should also talk to the team members and make sure you feel comfortable working with them,” Stephen said.
