Step into Estonia’s Thriving Blockchain Ecosystem at NFT Tallinn 2023

BABS teamed up with NFT Tallinn for the biggest industry event in the Nordics and Baltics. With a standout roster of 100+ carefully curated speakers and 25+ exhibitors from all over the world, this year’s edition of the conference is set to attract over 1,500 attendees to Estonia’s blockchain-friendly capital from May 8 –10.

Blazing a trail as the most dynamic industry event around

It’s well known that Estonia is breaking new ground in blockchain development and application, so it comes as no surprise that this year’s Web3 event that everyone is talking about is taking place in Tallinn.

Offering a unique opportunity to feel the pulse of the latest protocol, NFT, GameFi, DeFi, and DAO innovations, and network with fellow Web3 builders, investors, and enthusiasts in person, NFT Tallinn evolved into a must-attend event for anyone interested in the future of blockchain tech.

Featuring over 75 sessions, an impressive lineup of firesides, keynotes, panels, workshops, an expo arena, pitch competitions, creative installations, and performances, the 2023 edition will take place at Tallinn Creative Hub, one of the most unique event venues in Northern Europe.

The event was first conceptualized in 2021 by Sander Gansen, co-founder of WOF Labs, a blockchain research and engineering company known for the Supplain blockchain protocol and World of Freight NFT ecosystem. An overwhelming response to the idea to bring the local Web3 community together after a long period of COVID-19-related cancellations led to the creation of a 1–day conference featuring 50 international speakers from 16 countries, including the lead author of ERC-721 – the NFT standard, William Entriken. Last year the event attracted 450 attendees and positive feedback led to the decision to host the conference again in 2023 with the addition of a full-time event manager.

“Estonia & web3. For most people, there is no click, but they don’t know that Estonia was restarted 30 years ago, with the Internet & Computers being our main focus. So much so that since 2007 our health records have been on the blockchain, we have some of the best web3 companies like 3Commas, Guardtime, and Ready Player Me launched from Estonia, and we have both thousands of devs and also crypto-friendly regulators here. Now, we want to take all this to the world and have the people experience Estonia. So, we’re excited to host people from 40+ countries at NFT Tallinn!”  – Sander Gansen, co-founder of WOF Labs and organizer of NFT Tallinn

“BABs are thrilled to join forces with NFT Tallinn as a media partner. We’re committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the disruptive tech industry, and we believe that events like this play a critical role in advancing these values. My team is excited to help spread the word about this event, which promises to be a hub of innovation, education, and community-building. As a full-service Web3 communication and marketing agency, we understand the importance of bringing together industry experts and enthusiasts to discuss the latest innovations and applications of blockchain. We look forward to covering the conference and sharing the insights and knowledge gained with our clients and the wider audience.” – Catie Romero-Finger, Founder and CEO at BABS.

Estonia: The Trailblazer of Blockchain Innovation

Estonia is a leading country when it comes to digital public services, and its technology sector is playing a significant role in shaping the future of Web3. The Baltic country propelled itself at the forefront of the Web3 revolution with its proprietary distributed system, X-Road, launched in 2001. It has been leveraging blockchain technology since 2008 and positioned itself as a frontrunner in emerging innovation.

Staying ahead of the curve, various Estonian companies such as Guardtime, Ready Player Me, NFT Port, 3 Commas, and WOF Labs are utilizing Web3 to develop their next-generation products, ranging from government systems to finance and gaming.

Since 2018, Estonia has been fostering a regulatory environment that makes it easier for blockchain-based startups in the cryptocurrency industry to obtain licenses. However, Web3 technology goes beyond cryptocurrencies and is focused on empowering individuals with control over their data. The decentralization of the web is facilitated by blockchain technology, which creates a public digital registry of assets such as land ownership, medical records, and supply chain information. Innovative companies like Guardtime, Single.Earth, and Supplain in Estonia are spearheading products that improve supply chains, protect forests, and manage medical records.

“I look forward to being a part of NFT Tallinn 2023 and sharing my thoughts on Innovation in the Estonian Digital Agenda, focusing on the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector. With almost twenty years of experience in creating applications for the banking, government, and internet media sectors, I firmly believe in decentralized architecture, and I look forward to discussing how Estonia can remain ahead of the curve and how we can nudge the European Union to do the same. This event is not only important for the Web3 industry but also for Estonia as a country, showcasing its commitment to the future of technology and innovation. It is an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate our knowledge and expertise in the field, and to learn from other experts in the industry. I believe this event will have a significant impact on the Web3 industry, and I am excited to be a part of it.” – Kristo Vaher, Government CTO for the Republic of Estonia.
