On April 10-12, 2023, thousands involved in the startup space gathered in downtown Redwood City, California, for the Startup Grind Global Conference. The conference hosted 7,000 founders & investors, +200 speakers, 100 sessions, workshops, an investor Q&A, and over 300 exhibiting startups.

Startup Grind was attended by hundreds of premiere investors not only from around the U.S., but also a few internationally known business leaders. One such leader was Mikhail Peleg, an entrepreneur who has invested in a variety of successful businesses, including popular flight anxiety help app, SkyGuru.

The sessions were held in the Fox Theatre, as well as Club Fox and the San Mateo County History Museum. Vendors also put up displays in a tent on Courthouse Square. The Startup Grind event has grown tremendously compared to its first conference 11 years ago — from 500 to 800 people that first year, to many thousands at this year’s event.

Peleg noted he was very impressed with this year’s startup exhibition, an annual showcase of startups from around the world where founders can pitch ideas, meet with investors, and find potential partners. The founders marketed their startups by offering AI-based solutions for mapping social media impressions, automating sales workflows, managing digital marketing, and facilitating meetings. Particularly, several business-to-business AI startups attracted lots attention and were swarmed with interested attendees.

Peleg emphasized the significance of this networking event and the great opportunities it provides for new businesses. The energy and excitement from those gathered to meet and discuss the growth of their businesses was palpable. The event proved to be an ideal platform for startups to not only promote their innovative solutions but also to learn from and engage with other entrepreneurs, industry experts, and potential customers.

Mikhail also noted that the startup exhibition is a great place for investors to look for new ventures. Peleg shared that he is considering investing into a promising startup that pitched to him at the event, further showcasing the impact and potential this conference holds.

In an exclusive reveal, Misha Peleg also shared his plans to launch a startup incubator. He told me about his ambitious ideas to assemble a top-notch team of IT professionals to spearhead this new venture. Peleg envisions a company for startups that will provide budding entrepreneurs with an environment to thrive and turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses. He is currently working on putting together a large, dedicated team that can help make this vision a reality.

This was one of the reasons why Mikhail attended the Startup Grind this year, a conference that allows thousands of entrepreneurs to connect with their fellow founders, be inspired by fresh ideas and boundless energy, and foster a space to build new relationships that will help grow their businesses to their full potential.

Like Mikhail Peleg, I am truly excited about events like this that provide opportunities to entrepreneurs and allow so many people in the startup space to connect and share ideas. And I can’t wait to see where these new connections from this year’s event take us.
