Souvik Bhattacharya emphasizes the significance of Product Management in building AI ML products of the future

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure is the future of tomorrow because it enables the development and deployment of increasingly sophisticated and capable AI and ML models. These models can be used to improve a wide range of industries and applications, from healthcare and finance to transportation and manufacturing. By automating tasks, analyzing large amounts of data, and making predictions, AI and ML can help organizations make better decisions, increase efficiency, and improve overall quality. Entrepreneurs and professionals tapping into the potential of AI and machine learning are finding groundbreaking success.

Souvik’s decade-long experience in product management is crucial to advancing new technology in the US. Product management plays a critical role in the development and commercialization of AI and ML products and has a significant impact on the US economy. Product managers are responsible for defining the strategy and vision for these products, gathering and prioritizing customer and market requirements, and working with cross-functional teams to bring them to market. By effectively managing these products, they help ensure that they meet the needs and expectations of their target users, are competitive in the market, and drive growth and innovation in the industry. This results in the creation of jobs and revenue for companies, which in turn contributes to the overall economic growth of the country. Additionally, AI and ML products have a wide range of applications across multiple sectors such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and retail, which further amplifies the impact on the economy.

Souvik was an exceptional Amazon S3 Lead Product Manager (Technical). As the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, our major clients began to focus on improving their cloud computing and storage expenditures. As a product lead at Amazon S3, he was concerned with developing new solutions that would help consumers save money. Souvik was critical for the success of this endeavor. First, he used his strong client ties to learn about their present storage spending. Customers included notable US firms including Netflix, Uber, Lyft, Bank of America, and Capital One among others. Souvik was able to reduce their current storage expenditures and improve profitability.

Souvik further elaborates “Product management is the bridge between the cutting-edge technology of AI and ML and the real-world needs of customers. It facilitates the development of AI and ML products by providing a clear vision, guiding the team through the product development process, and ensuring that the final product meets the needs of the market.”

Souvik Bhattacharya is currently a PM lead at Meta, working on developer infrastructure in the release and prevention space. Prior to Meta, Souvik was a Sr. Product Manager for Amazon S3, where he build products for large enterprise customers such as Uber and Netflix as well as small startups with a focus on infrastructure and platform as a service for analytical, machine learning, and event-driven serverless workloads. Souvik has a decade of technical product management experience in scaling edtech startups to impact 1M+ students in the K-12 learning space, and consumer and enterprise technologies in Apple, Amazon Web Services, and Meta. While in business school at the University of Michigan, he sat on the board of the Social Venture Fund, evaluating early-stage ed-tech startups to influence funding.
