Reequestrian® Launches to Redefine Access, Affordability, and Connection in the Equestrian Marketplace

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 2025) — When Dover Saddlery abruptly closed its Pittsburgh store this September, local riders were left wondering where to turn for trusted, high-quality gear. Just days earlier, Reequestrian® had quietly opened its digital doors — a new peer-to-peer technology platform designed to modernize access, affordability, and community in equestrian life.

Founded by Kaitlin B. Malaspina, a Pittsburgh-based entrepreneur and mother of one, Reequestrian® was born from a simple insight: people want to participate in the sport, but barriers of cost, access, and visibility keep many from getting started. “You don’t need to own a barn or have a trainer on speed dial to be part of this world,” said Malaspina. “Reequestrian exists to preserve the heart of the sport through technology that makes participation easier, more inclusive, and more sustainable.”

A Marketplace Built for Riders, Not Retailers

Officially launched on August 1, 2025, Reequestrian® is a nationwide, free-to-join digital marketplace that connects riders directly to buy and sell tack, apparel, and equipment. Unlike general resale sites, the platform was built specifically for the equestrian community — offering verified listings, secure payments, and clear resolution support for both buyers and sellers.

The company does not own or handle inventory, positioning itself as a neutral digital facilitator rather than a consignment service. This structure allows Reequestrian® to maintain transparency, reduce overhead, and pass savings directly to its users. Sellers keep more of their earnings, buyers access gently used gear at fair prices, and the community as a whole benefits from a simplified, trustworthy resale experience.

The Stable Society™: Building Access Together

At the center of Reequestrian’s mission is The Stable Society™, a national barn partnership initiative designed to make the sport more affordable and collaborative. Participating barns receive a unique referral code that lowers the platform’s commission rate from 10 percent to 5 percent for their riders — empowering local communities to grow access while sharing in the rewards.

“It’s a win for everyone,” said Malaspina. “Barns become advocates for accessibility, riders save money, and together we build a more sustainable future for the sport.”

The Stable Society™ is already gaining momentum among trainers, youth riders, and tack shops nationwide who see technology as a bridge between tradition and innovation. Its model reframes community not as a competitor network, but as a shared ecosystem where access and sustainability benefit all participants.

Collaboration Over Competition

In addition to supporting riders, Reequestrian® invites established equestrian brands — from heritage labels to boutique makers — to list clearance or overstock inventory directly on the platform. This collaboration-first model allows brands to reach a sport-specific audience, reduce waste, and support the long-term health of the industry.

“We believe in collaboration over competition,” Malaspina noted. “When brands and barns participate together, they strengthen the community that sustains equestrian life. Reequestrian isn’t just a resale site — it’s infrastructure for connection.”

Technology with Heart

Behind the technology is a founder focused on people. Malaspina, whose professional background spans business strategy and brand development, saw an opportunity to apply modern tools to an old-fashioned problem: accessibility. By combining intuitive digital systems with a deep respect for craftsmanship and care, Reequestrian® turns resale into something relational rather than transactional.

As the circular economy expands globally, the company represents a new kind of innovation — one grounded in empathy, inclusion, and sustainability. “Every time a piece of gear finds a new home, someone else gets the chance to ride,” said Malaspina. “That’s the heart of why this matters.”

Reequestrian®’s launch comes at a pivotal moment for the industry and the community it serves — one that increasingly values purpose as much as performance.
