Reality Gaming Group publishes games as well as non-fungible token (NFT) digital collectibles. They have just announced a launch on Polygon, which is a full-stack scaling solution based on Ethereum. The goal is to bring mass adoption to the Ethereum network. The switch will also protect users from high gas fees when processing transactions of blockchain assets in-game.
Players of the forthcoming Doctor Who: Worlds Apart NFT card game, which is officially licensed and free-to-play, will be the first to benefit from this collaboration. Fans may already buy NFT card packs before the PC game’s release. They will soon be able to exchange cards with one another on a specialized marketplace online for very low or zero gas costs.
Reality Gaming Group will be able to address common issues related to blockchain games and collectibles, such as excessive energy consumption, gas fees, and sluggish speeds, all by utilizing Polygon’s high speed and high throughput.
In the end, this will make it considerably cheaper for users of Reality Gaming Group’s NFT-enabled games to remove their assets from the publisher’s sidechain, allowing those assets to be sold on various third-party markets like OpenSea.
Reality Gaming Group collaborated with BBC Studios to create and distribute the blockchain-based trading card game Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, and recently launched NFT memorabilia honoring Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition fight with YouTuber Logan Paul.
Morten Rongaard, CEO and Co-Founder of Reality Gaming Group, said: “Our primary focus has been on game development, but thanks to our Polygon integration, we can turn our attention to enhancing our chain, which has already tokenized more than 500,000 NFT trading cards. I’m thrilled to finally connect with Polygon, having followed their work since they emerged. We believe our communities of gamers are going to benefit hugely from the updates we are going to be able to implement using the Polygon platform.”
Polygon has become the most developer-friendly platform after Ethereum by giving its fast-expanding developer community access to their favorite tools, including Hardhat, Truffle, Metamask, Etherscan, and more, from day one.
Shreyansh Singh, Head of Polygon Studios, said: “We welcome Reality Gaming Group’s decision to join our growing Gaming & NFT ecosystem and use our fast, easy, and economical technology to boost user adoption and make NFT accessible to everyone. Polygon is already working with major Web 3.0 gaming and NFT projects and we’re excited to offer our support to Reality Gaming’s team for some of their great games with iconic IPs.”
Polygon is seeing an increase in the number of creative initiatives that are being launched on its platform.
Polygon has much more gaming and NFT decentralized applications than all other networks aside from Ethereum. It has over 500 dapps and counting within its ecosystem. With more than 13.5 million unique users more than 567 million transactions, Polygon is the fastest growing gaming solution in blockchain.
