Reality Gaming Group publishes games as well as non-fungible token (NFT) digital collectibles. They have just announced a launch on Polygon, which is a full-stack scaling solution based on Ethereum. The goal is to bring mass adoption to the Ethereum network. The switch will also protect users from high gas fees when processing transactions of blockchain assets in-game.
Players of the forthcoming Doctor Who: Worlds Apart NFT card game, which is officially licensed and free-to-play, will be the first to benefit from this collaboration. Fans may already buy NFT card packs before the PC game’s release. They will soon be able to exchange cards with one another on a specialized marketplace online for very low or zero gas costs.
Reality Gaming Group will be able to address common issues related to blockchain games and collectibles, such as excessive energy consumption, gas fees, and sluggish speeds, all by utilizing Polygon’s high speed and high throughput.
In the end, this will make it considerably cheaper for users of Reality Gaming Group’s NFT-enabled games to remove their assets from the publisher’s sidechain, allowing those assets to be sold on various third-party markets like OpenSea.
Reality Gaming Group collaborated with BBC Studios to create and distribute the blockchain-based trading card game Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, and recently launched NFT memorabilia honoring Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition fight with YouTuber Logan Paul.
