New Multisig Signers

The NFT gaming platform Munchables, in a post on Monday, said that they brought in new multisig signers, “Established and trusted entities,” to help upgrade the security of the project’s funds and smart contracts. This was part of the way they are restructuring their team.

Munchables avoided a $62 million theft from one of its own developers last week, this was what prompted the upgrade and restructuring of teams.

“We’re on the final steps with the lockdrop refunds. As part of our next phase, we have restructured the team completely. We have brought in established and trusted entities to help upgrade the security of the project’s funds and smart contracts,” Munchables said.

ManifoldTrading, SeliniCapital, ZachXBT, and NethermindEth are the new multisig signals. According to the report, ManifoldTrading and SeliniCapital have also injected top devs to re-audit and upgrade to new contracts, and oversee the dev hiring process from here on out.

ZachXBT will be completing the safe return of user funds. NethermindEth will audit all refreshed contracts before going live again.

Munchables said, “This process has been a rollercoaster for everyone involved, but we will not give up and are committed to nailing our ultimate vision for the project. As Confucius said, “We have two lives to munch, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”

Recovering process

The NFT gaming platform said that users should not interact with any site asking to claim the money because refunds will be sent directly to their wallets.

Returning depositors will receive massive multiples on game rewards, which will boost their future MUNCH token allocation. They said that users must re-claim deposited funds within 48 hours.

Munchables will send ETH and future MUNCH donations to those who were involved in the recovery process of keeping our users safe. The platform will re-release with NFT migration plans and additional features to be revealed soon.

Munchables Attack

Munchables confirmed on March 26 that it has been compromised, that they are tracking it, and that they will stop the transactions. It was discovered that the hack was attempted by a Munchable developer, and he has agreed to share the keys for the full Munchables funds without any conditions.

Based on the report, “The Munchables developer has shared all private keys involved to assist in recovering the user funds. Specifically, the key which holds $62,535,441.24 USD, the key which holds 73 WETH, and the owner key which contains the rest of the funds.”

On March 29, Munchables said they have finalized the data verification and will announce when to share the refunds on the page.
