Multi-Faceted Entrepreneur Shares His Top Three Secrets to Achieving Success in the Agricultural Industry

The agricultural industry has a massive impact on society. If not for farmers and organizations heavily involved in agriculture, we wouldn’t have nearly half the things we’ve grown accustomed to having easy access to, such as food and raw materials. In fact, according to one World Bank Report, agricultural innovation holds the key to reducing poverty throughout developing countries across the globe. The Vice President of Equitable Growth, Finance, and Institutions for World Bank Group, Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, said, “Boosted productivity in the agricultural sector leads to better jobs and more opportunities.” It proves that agricultural innovation can lead to better outcomes for everyone, which is something one multi-faceted entrepreneur aims to do through his consistent sustainability efforts.

Saurabh Chhabra is the owner of two India-based businesses, Krishna Agro Industries and Chhabra Agro Industries, completing rice shelling for the Government of India and producing mint oil using the most innovative distillation and extraction techniques. Having come from a family with an entrepreneurial background, it’s no surprise that he owns and operates these successful businesses that provide sustainable, zero-waste solutions. As an entrepreneur and agile project manager, Saurabh has broadened his reach even further, now working with countless organizations in the United States to bring his innovations to life. Becoming an incredibly sought-after project manager in both India and the United States, he looks forward to sharing the top three secrets to his success in the agricultural industry for those interested in following in his footsteps.

Consistency is Key

Saurabh Chhabra says consistency is critical to the overall success of a business in any industry, especially in a sector that people rely heavily upon for essentials. His contract with the government of India didn’t happen overnight and was one of the challenges he faced as an entrepreneur. “I knew that securing a government contract wouldn’t be the easiest. It takes time, effort, and dedication, but I was willing to go through leaps and bounds to make it work. Pushing innovation to the forefront and keeping track of my production of agricultural goods and zero-waste solutions helped me secure government contracts,” shares Chhabra.

Prioritize Innovation

As a self-motivated professional known for his creative mindset, Saurabh Chhabra has never allowed complex challenges to get in the way of innovation. He says, “Working in agriculture isn’t always easy. It is unpredictable because you depend on the weather for growth. However, if you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone to develop creative resourceful concepts, they just might work. I’ve relied on my creativity ingenious skills to help me devise strategic, sustainable solutions within the agricultural industry that yield better outcomes than before. If you can tap into that creative side, you can overcome anything that comes your way.”

Give Yourself Time

Some people work well under pressure, but according to Saurabh Chhabra, this isn’t necessarily the right way to do things. “Even if you work well under pressure, consistently putting yourself through that stress can cause you to burn out quickly, making it harder for you to tap into your creative side. Instead, make an effort to give yourself more time to come up with fresh, exciting ideas, whether you’re focused on sustainable solutions or something else. Many of the ideas I’ve conceptualized have occurred during my downtime when I’ve had time to relax and really think about things,” says Saurabh Chhabra.

If your goal is to become successful in the agricultural industry or any other industry, Mr. Chhabra’s valuable advice can come in handy. As someone who has made great strides throughout his career, transitioning from an India-based businessman to an entrepreneur widely recognized for his innovation in India and the United States, he certainly knows what it takes to be successful.
