The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently announced that the unemployment rate declined by 0.2% to rest on 5.2% in August 2021. According to the Bureau the number of unemployed persons “edged down to 8.4 million, following a large decrease in July.” In August, notable job gains occurred in professional and business services, transportation and warehousing as well as other services.
