Jack Davenport was born on March 1, 1973 in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, England. His father, Nigel Davenport, was an actor and his mother Maria Aitken is a writer and TV producer. He grew up alongside two sisters, actress/writer Sophie Thompson and director/producer Emma Thompson. Jack attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) after graduating from Eton College in 1992.

Career:

 In 1996 he began appearing in small roles for television shows such as “Karaoke” and “The Tenants.” In 1998 his big break came when he starred as Miles Stewart in the ITV series “Coupling.” He then appeared in a variety of films, including “The Talented Mr. Ripley” (1999) and “Shanghai Knights” (2003). In 2004 he starred in the TV series “This Life+10,” which aired on BBC One. From 2006-2007 he was cast as Will Scarlett in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and its sequel.
