The 2022 NCAA Football season is officially here and this season it’s easier than ever to watch college football even if you have given up your cable or satellite subscription. While there are many changes on the horizon for college football fans, for this season at least, there are more options than ever to stream your favorite college football team — and many you can watch for free.
With so many channels broadcasting games, it’s gotten even more confusing where to find your favorite team. While some of the college football TV schedules are set before the season, thanks to flex scheduling, most marquee games won’t be set until a week or two before the game.

How to Watch College Football Online
If you don’t have cable, or you want to supplement a digital antenna to watch every college football game live, we recommend getting a live TV streaming service. Below are some of the best streaming services that let you watch college football online — all of which work with streaming devices (i.e. Roku, Firestick, Apple TV), laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
- Stream College Football on fuboTV
With access to 14 channels broadcasting live college football games — including local, national, and college networks — fuboTV is the best way to watch college football online. fuboTV’s basic subscription gets you most of these channels and costs $69.99 a month, but you’ll want the upgraded “Elite” plan ($79.99 a month) to get ESPNU, SEC Network, Pac-12 Network, and ACC Network as well. fuboTV also offers a seven-day free trial before you pay.
- Stream College Football on Sling
Sling offers up to 13 channels showing live college football games, making it one of the best ways to watch college football online. To get all of these channels, you’ll want Sling Orange + Blue, which includes 47 channels total and costs $50 a month. However, right now new customers can get half off their first month’s bill, bringing the price down to $25 for one month.
You’ll also want Sling’s Sports Plus add-on package, which brings seven college sports channels like SEC Network and Big Ten Network and costs $11 a month. This brings the total cost for the whole package to $36 for your first month and $61 thereafter.
- Stream College Football on Hulu + Live TV
Another great live TV streaming service that lets you watch college football online is Hulu + Live TV. The nice thing about Hulu + Live TV is that you get 12 college football-broadcasting channels in the streamer’s basic subscription package, which costs $69.99 per month. There are no add-ons or upgrades necessary, and you even get ESPN+ and Disney+ for free as a bonus.
- Stream College Football on ESPN+
This year, ESPN+ will be showing 350 live FCS games from 11 conferences. You won’t get access to as many games as you do with a live TV streamer, but you also pay far less for ESPN+: it costs just $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year and delivers a host of other live and on-demand sports content as well.
- Stream College Football on Paramount+
The cheapest way to watch college football live online is with Paramount+. The streaming service costs just $4.99 per month for an ad-supported plan or $9.99 a month for an ad-free plan, and lets you watch live college football games as they air on CBS. Plus, you get a seven-day free trial before paying.
How to Stream College Football for Free Online
There isn’t any way to stream the whole NCAA season without paying, but we were able to find a couple of ways to watch college football online for free. Both fuboTV and DirecTV Stream (which has several college football channels) offer free trials that let you watch live TV without paying. As mentioned, fuboTV’s free trial lasts seven days, and DirecTV Stream’s free trial lasts five days. Together, these free trials let you get college football live streams for free — even if just for a few important games.

More ways to watch college football live stream
Fans have more options than ever before to watch college football games streaming online.
FuboTV packages have a strong focus on sports, including carrying ESPN channels along with the likes of Fox Sports 1, NBC Sports, and Stadium. If you live near an ACC or SEC school, you will even get those conference channels too. However, Fubo lacks ESPNU.
DirecTV Stream includes many of the channels you would need for a full college football weekend, but most will require you to pick, at least, its premium plan
Sling TV offers the lowest regular price among the live streaming services, but most college football fans will need to at least step up to the Orange + Blue plan. If you want ACC Network, Big Ten Network, Pac-12 Network, SEC Network, and Longhorn Network with Sling TV (yeah, you do) that will require the Sports Extra add-on. Sports Extra for Orange includes ACC Network, Pac-12 Network, SEC Network, and Longhorn Network, while Sports Extra for Blue includes the Big Ten Network and Pac-12 Network.
