Frequently Asked Questions ( F.A.Q)

Question: What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I be able to recall my recipient’s  Outlook email address?

Answer: First, make sure that you comply with all the requirements to permit Outlook to recall to work, i.e., the recipient, and you are connecting to an Exchange server belonging to the same company and using Outlook for email as a client.

If these circumstances apply to you, but you’re not able to recall your recipient’s name, it is possible that your attempt did not succeed due to any other reason beyond your control.

Here are some possible causes for why Outlook email recall might not have succeeded despite meeting all the requirements for success:

The recipient may have already viewed this email (Note you’ll receive the reminder email, but the email that was delivered in the first place will be sitting there on the desk)

If you’ve experienced your email being redirected to a separate folder from your inbox, it’s because of inbox filtering rules or filters.

If the message is sent via an open or affixed folder

Question: What should I do if the Recall This Message command isn’t working?

Answer: If the Recall This choice for messages isn’t available, you must create an Exchange server account. Click Tools> Account Settings, then Email, and check your Type column to identify the type of account associated with each account in the Outlook profile. There’s a chance that you’re located in a place where you cannot access the recall option since the feature isn’t offered at your workplace.

Question: Are there other ways of saving messages within Outlook?

Answer: This way, you will be free from the shame of having to set up an eternal delay for your Outlook email. You can configure this through the File > Manage Rules and the Alerts menu in your Outlook accounts for emails.
