How to Monetize YouTube Videos 2021

Monetize YouTube Videos

Earning money by doing what you love and just sharing that online is a dream. But it is quite a journey to get to this point. It also isn’t just as easy to make videos as you need to invest in a camera, microphone, props, etc. Getting funds from places like Payday Depot can help you get started.

In more recent years, Youtube has put more stringent policies in place to ensure that the right content creators are rewarded for their quality content.

The YPP Requirements

To set the bar for the online Youtube ecosystem not to be taken advantage of, you would have to be accepted into what is known as the Youtube Partner Program (YPP).

The four main requirements you need to be eligible for the program are:

1) 1000 Subscribers

Before anything else, you first have to reach the milestone of getting to your first thousand subscribers. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for you to achieve it, so long as you do. And once you’re ready, that’s one requirement marked off your checklist.

2) 4000 Watch Time Hours Over the Last 12 Months

The next rule requires that your channel has at the very least 4000 watch hours within 12 months. This isn’t specific to just one particular video but applies to all the videos on your channel.

It is important to note that just because you have gained a total of 4000 hours worth of views on your channel on Youtube, a crucial part of this should be that it has occurred within the last 12 months.

Furthermore, the 4000 watch time hours do not apply to unlisted or private videos. If in the next 12 months you do not reach the minimum of 4000 hours, this does not automatically mean you will be taken off of the program, but Youtube may do so at their own discretion.

3) Compliance with Youtube’s Policies and Guidelines

While there are quite a few guidelines that need to be followed, one of the main things to be considered is the use of copyrighted material. If you are taking content without the permission of the original creator or not crediting the original of the uploaded work, then you may not be accepted into the YPP.

4) Have an AdSense Account

The platform Youtube uses in order to pay its users is AdSense. This can be set up at any time. So if you have ticked off the other three requirements, then you can make an AdSense account during your YPP application process.

After the Submission

After following all the aforementioned steps, the next move you have to take is to wait. Youtube may take a month to make the final decision on whether a channel deserves to be monetized as it is being reviewed by actual human beings.

If you get a rejection, do not fret. You can reapply for the program in 30 days’ time. Until then, good luck with your Youtube channel, and may you gain a lot of success!
