Interview with Joel Roberts, CEO of HAiO – the AI Agent-Based Music Platform
“The idea that music is the exclusive domain of creators is outdated.”
Joel Roberts, CEO of the AI-based Web3 music platform HAiO, opened the interview with this powerful statement.
He continued, “We designed HAiO to create an ecosystem where anyone can create, distribute, and earn from music. That’s what we mean by ‘AI Music-Fi’—a new frontier where music, AI, and finance intersect.”
Under Roberts’ leadership, HAiO is fundamentally restructuring the traditional music industry’s limitations using AI and blockchain. The platform allows not only creators but also fans, curators, developers, and investors to participate and earn in a decentralized music economy.
A Participatory Music Ecosystem Powered by AI Agents
HAiO provides AI-driven tools such as the Music Agent (for music generation), Playlist Agent (for curating playlists), Live Agent (for real-time streaming), and Social Agent (for content distribution). These agents evolve based on user interaction and participation data.
The content created by these AI agents becomes a tokenized asset, which can generate rewards for users—transforming music into an interactive, monetizable experience.
“You don’t need to compose music yourself. Just input the mood or theme you want, and the AI does the rest—from generating music and tagging it to building playlists,” said Roberts. “You can earn rewards based on your channel’s views, subscribers, and likes.”
AI Music-Fi Is Not a Concept—It’s Happening
So far, HAiO has created over 240,000 AI-generated tracks, connected more than 490,000 Web3 wallets, and enabled over 18,000 user-created channels, with monthly active users surpassing 280,000.
The core philosophy behind HAiO—AI Music-Fi—is not just theoretical. It’s a fully functioning model where music creation, ownership, and monetization are automated and decentralized using Web3 technologies.
To reinforce this vision, HAiO plans to introduce AI Agent NFTs. Users will be able to own an AI Agent and automatically receive revenue generated from the music or channel operated by that agent.
“The future of music isn’t owned by a handful of producers or platforms. It’s about collective ownership and shared value,” Roberts emphasized.
Expanding into B2B with API and SDK Integrations
HAiO will launch its B2B expansion strategy in the second half of the year. The company plans to release APIs and SDKs to allow third-party platforms—including advertisers, game studios, and metaverse projects—to integrate and utilize HAiO’s music.
“We’ll enable brands to use music without complex licensing. Game developers, for example, can dynamically insert AI-generated music into gameplay scenarios,” Roberts explained.
This simplified licensing approach could radically solve traditional copyright bottlenecks.
Democratizing Music Like YouTube Did for Video
Joel Roberts envisions HAiO as the YouTube of music—a platform that removes the barriers to entry, empowers users to build fanbases, and offers real financial rewards through tokenization and blockchain.
“It’s not just about AI or Web3. What matters is enabling people to create, connect, and earn freely,” he said. “That’s HAiO’s true vision—a new digital music culture powered by collective the future of the best a participation.”
