Great Cold Emails — August 2025 Edition

tools

There are more than 1 million words currently published on the internet that will give you advice on how to write a good cold email. And there are probably close to 1 million dollars in courses that you could buy to teach you.

Here I’m sharing more examples of emails that have performed well for friends, so you can get some inspiration for what a good cold email might look like. Remember, though, that your email should be perfect for the person you are emailing, and that examples you see online might not reflect what will work for you.

Ok, the first example is Maxio, which offers billing and financial reporting software

for SaaS companies. They offer one-click reporting for subscriptions, instead of finance people having to do a bunch of mundane spreadsheet work.

Hi Mark,

I saw your financial analyst role’s been open for a couple of months now. Are you in charge of putting together all the spreadsheets until that role is filled?

I’m Sabrina by the way. I work at Maxio, and we built a subscription billing software tool that generates one-click reports for ARR, MRR, churn, renewals, and more. Advanced cohort, revenue waterfalls, and drill-down reports.

Would that be helpful?

Our second example is Bouncer, which helps with email verification.

————

Hey Matt,

I saw you’ve got more than a handful of people sending outbound at {{company_name}}. Random, but how are your bounce rates?

One way you can send a major red flag to ESPs is by sending a lot of emails that bounce (in other words, that don’t reach an inbox). Anything above 3% is a major signal for spam.

So, before you send out emails to a big list, you can use Bouncer to see which emails aren’t valid (i.e. bounce) and purge them from your list.

Would it be a waste of time if I sent this your way?

Next up is Optad360, which offers an easy way for mobile apps to monetize their traffic. “Mobile app monetization” for short.

————

Hi {{first_name}},

You already know the game: most apps are free and traffic pays the bills. The problem? Most developers leave 30–50% of ad revenue on the table because they don’t optimize their monetization stack.

That’s where we come in. Optad360 helps app owners earn more by:

  • Running smarter ad placements (without wrecking UX)
  • Connecting you with high-paying demand sources

Think of it like adding a new revenue engine inside your app, without new code or changing your pricing model.

If you want, I can send you a quick breakdown of how much extra you could be earning for {{app_name}}. Want me to put that together?

————

We’re past the halfway mark. The 4th example is for Luzmo, which gives apps the ability to offer their users AI insights of the data in the app.

————

Mike, hey.

{{app_name}} already captures more data than most users know what to do with. The problem? It just sits there — invisible revenue left on the table.

Luzmo lets you turn that data into AI-powered insights inside your app. That means your users can ask:

  • {idea_1}
  • {idea_2}

…and get instant answers without leaving your product.

For you, that means:

  • Stickier customers (they see more value in the data they already generate)
  • A premium upsell lever (AI insights as a feature tier)
  • Zero heavy lifting (we plug in, you launch new features fast)

If you want, I can show you how companies like yours turned “dormant data” into a new revenue line. Want me to put together a quick example?

Best,

Jim

We’ve got two more. Our fifth example is Webwave, offering an AI website builder. Since they’re able to make websites so easily, I thought it’d be awesome to make the website upfront, and share it in the cold email itself. I love cold emails that people are grateful they got, because they give more than they ask.

————

Hi {{first_name}},

Most people spend weeks (and thousands) getting a site live. WebWave’s AI does it in minutes.

So instead of telling you, I just made one for {{company_name}}: {{website_url}}

If you like it, we can customize it and have you launched by tomorrow. If not — no worries, at least you’ve got a site draft ready to go.

What’s one thing you’d want me to change about it?

————

Last but not least, we’re doing an example with Claap, an AI note taker.

_______

Hi {{First Name}},

Most meetings end the same way: great ideas, lost in the shuffle. Claap fixes that by taking AI notes automatically — decisions, action items, next steps.

Instead of pitching you, I ran Claap on one of your public [webinar/podcast/video/demo]:

That’s the experience your team would get after every meeting. Searchable, shareable, done in minutes.

Want me to set this up for your next call so you can try it live?
