GoMining has expanded its educational platform beyond Bitcoin mining with the launch of a free blockchain and cryptocurrency course aimed at people who want to understand how digital assets work rather than simply learn how to use them.
The new “Blockchain and Crypto” course is GoMining Academy’s third course and covers the fundamentals of blockchain networks, cryptocurrencies, consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, digital assets, wallets and private keys. The program is designed for beginners and does not require prior knowledge of blockchain or cryptocurrency.
The launch comes as crypto education remains a major barrier to broader adoption. New users are often introduced to digital assets through prices, social media and market speculation before they understand basic concepts such as custody, consensus or the difference between coins and tokens.
GoMining is attempting to address that gap through a structured educational platform. More than 740,000 learners have started a GoMining Academy course, while more than 194,000 have completed at least one, according to the company. Existing courses have accumulated more than 105,000 learner ratings, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.
The new course broadens the Academy’s scope from GoMining’s core focus on Bitcoin and mining to the technology underpinning the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem.
The curriculum starts with why blockchain was created and how decentralized networks maintain a shared record without relying on a single central authority. It then moves into Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, Bitcoin, altcoins, stablecoins, smart contracts, tokens and non-fungible tokens.
The course also covers an area that is often missing from introductory crypto education: where blockchain may not be the appropriate technology.
One lesson examines potential applications of blockchain outside currency while considering the difference between practical use cases and projects where the technology may add little value. Other sections address the energy requirements of mining, risks associated with wallets and private keys, and lessons from the NFT market.
That approach reflects a shift from promotional crypto education toward a more practical introduction to the technology. Rather than presenting blockchain exclusively as a solution to existing financial or technological problems, the course attempts to explain both its potential applications and limitations.
The Academy’s format is also designed around different learning preferences. Lessons are available in video, written and audio formats, while video subtitles are offered in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.
The current course structure contains eight instructional lessons followed by a final quiz. Topics range from the basic purpose of blockchain to cryptocurrency, consensus, Bitcoin and other digital assets, smart contracts, blockchain applications and the practical mechanics of holding crypto. The final assessment tests whether learners have understood the material covered in the course.
Learners are also given short questions after individual lessons to reinforce the material. Those who complete the course can take the final assessment and receive a digital completion certificate after meeting the required score.
Importantly, access to the educational material does not require users to own GoMining’s token or use its mining products. GoMining’s documentation describes the Academy as a free educational platform covering Bitcoin, blockchain, crypto mining and the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Users can read the new course without a GoMining account. Signing in is required for features such as saving progress, completing the final assessment and receiving the certificate.
The launch also gives GoMining a way to expand its relationship with users beyond its core mining business. The company describes itself as a technology platform built around digital Bitcoin miners and related financial products, while its Academy provides a separate educational layer for users who are still developing their understanding of crypto.
GoMining’s current investor materials show the scale of its underlying mining operation, reporting 16.76 million TH/s of total mining power and 5,838 BTC mined as of its second-quarter 2026 figures.
But the education initiative is broader than mining. The Academy already offers courses covering Bitcoin and mining as well as the GoMining ecosystem, alongside articles addressing areas such as crypto security, decentralized finance and regulation.
The course is available at https://academy.gomining.com/courses/blockchain-and-crypto-course.
That expansion reflects a wider challenge for the crypto industry. As digital assets move beyond a relatively specialized group of early adopters, users increasingly need to understand not only how to buy or hold cryptocurrency but also how wallets work, what private keys represent, how transactions are validated and what risks come with different blockchain applications.
For GoMining, building an education platform around those fundamentals could help reduce that knowledge gap while giving the company an audience that extends beyond people already interested in Bitcoin mining.
The Blockchain and Crypto course is now available through GoMining Academy at no cost. The course is positioned as an introductory resource rather than a professional or academic qualification; GoMining’s documentation states that the Academy is not a licensed educational institution and that its certificates are digital records of course completion rather than government-recognized academic credentials.
The broader significance of the launch will depend on whether GoMining can convert its existing learner base into sustained engagement with educational content. With hundreds of thousands of learners already having started Academy courses, however, the company has an established audience with which to test a broader approach to crypto education.
