MONACO, April 18, 2023 – The Monaco Legend Group is pleased to announce a distinguished timepieces auction that will take place at the Hôtel Méridien Beach Plaza in Monaco on April 22-23, 2023. Both watch collectors and watch aficionados are sure to be enthralled by the event, which will include an extraordinary assortment of rare and one-of-a-kind timepieces.
The auction will offer a remarkable collection of horological rarities, such as a Patek Philippe 2523-1 that is exceptional and a one-of-a-kind Rolex Yachtmaster that was once owned by the late Patrick Heiniger, President of Rolex. A curated collection of timepieces specifically designed for the Middle Eastern market is also available for purchase. This collection includes a Rolex Submariner and Daytona from the Sultanate of Oman, as well as a steel Daytona with an insignia of the United Arab Emirates engraved on the dial.
The Monaco Legend Group would like to express its appreciation to Auro Montanari, also known as John Goldberger, Roberto Randazzo, and George Pakkos for the excellent oversight they provided with regard to the catalog. In addition, they would like to express their gratitude to Eric Tortella for the important support he provided in the process of identifying some of the rarest Patek Philippe watches and authenticating them.
Session I will take place on Saturday, April 22 at 2:30 PM CEST (lots 1-100). Session II will take place on Sunday, April 23 at 10:30 AM CEST (numbers 101-164), and Session III will take place on Sunday, April 23 at 2:30 PM CEST (lots 165-261).
Those who are interested in placing a bid are required to pre-register and provide both proof of identity and a bank statement. The registration period will end forty-eight hours before the start of the live auction.
Bidders have the option of submitting absentee bids either online or offline in advance of the live auction. In these bids, they indicate the highest price that they are ready to pay for a particular lot. The auctioneer will try to execute the bid at the lowest feasible price, but they will never go above the maximum amount that was set. Offline bids can be entered by using the auction form that can be found either in the printed catalog or on the page that serves as an overview of the auction. Online absentee bidding requires an approved account on the website of Monaco Legend Auctions.

LIVE BID
You have the option of participating in a live auction either IN THE ROOM, via TELEPHONE, or ONLINE.
When the auctioneer puts the first item up for bid, the live auction will officially get underway. The highest bidder for each lot will be awarded ownership of that lot. Live bids will be accepted in the order in which they are received.
ONLINE BIDDING
You need to have an account on the Monaco Legend Auction website in order to participate in online live bidding.
To place bids from a mobile device during live auctions you must download our mobile app “Monaco Legend Group Live” available for iOS and Android.
TELEPHONE BIDDING
Please return the auction form at least twenty-four hours before the beginning of the live auction if you would want to submit bids via telephone. Either the auction form can be found on the printed catalogue of the auction, or it can be downloaded from the page that provides an overview of the sale.
You will be contacted by Monaco Legend Group, and a saleroom professional will participate in live bidding with you over the phone.
BIDDING GOING ON INSIDE THE ROOM
If you want to bid in the room, you can either register in advance or immediately at the auction location up to three hours before the beginning of the opening of the auction. This is only possible if you have already been approved to participate in one of our other auctions.
