Everything You Need to Know About WoW Forever Before Launch

Everything You Need to Know About WoW Forever Before Launch

World of Warcraft Forever launches on November 4, and it’s bringing a pretty big pile of new stuff to the old Azeroth we already know. You’ve got new zones, new quests, new class combinations, new dungeons and a bunch of systems that weren’t around in Vanilla. KingBoost has already been getting plenty of questions about the new game and WoW Forever leveling, so we’ve put together everything you need to know before launch.

What Is WoW Forever

Forever is a new version of WoW that runs alongside Modern WoW and Classic. It takes the original Azeroth and changes quite a bit of what happens inside it without throwing away the old world.

If you’ve played Vanilla or Classic before, a lot of the world will look familiar. The leveling routes, old zones and general level 1 to 60 journeys are still there. The difference is that Blizzard has added a lot more for you to do along the way.

Classes and talent trees have been changed, new quests have been added, and there are new systems that give you more reasons to actually interact with other players instead of just running from one quest hub to the next.

So no, it’s not just Classic with a few extra quests thrown in.

When Does WoW Forever Release

WoW Forever launches on November 4, 2026, at 3 PM Pacific Time.

Name reservation and character creation open on October 27, so if you’ve already got the perfect character name picked out, don’t wait until launch day and hope nobody takes it.

Are There Realms in WoW Forever

Forever handles its worlds a little differently from the Classic servers you’re probably used to.

Instead of picking a specific server and sticking with it, you choose a playstyle such as Normal, PvP or Roleplay. Hardcore is planned for later rather than launching on day one.

That’s a pretty big change if you’ve spent years remembering which server your characters are sitting on. You won’t have to worry about picking the “right” realm before you even get to create your character. Faction restrictions are still there, though.

What Is the New Race in WoW Forever

The Skyborne, also known as the Shen’dorei, are the new playable race coming with Forever. They have their own starting zone, Zephras Isle, and they’re a little different from the other races because they can choose their faction when they create their character.

Horde Skyborne can become Shaman, while Alliance Skyborne can become Mage. Both sides also have access to Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid. The Skyborne are part of the Skyborne Heroic Pack, so unlike the rest of Forever’s content, the race is tied to an optional purchase.

Is There a New Class in WoW Forever

No new class this time around. Forever keeps the original nine.

What Blizzard has done instead is open up several race and class combinations that weren’t possible in Vanilla. That includes Undead Paladin, Dwarf Shaman, Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Orc Mage and Troll Warlock.

Horde Paladins weren’t a thing in Vanilla, and Forever finally lets you walk around as one, and it also gets its own questline.

Racials have changed too. Every race gets four racial abilities, with two active and two passive.

What Zones Are in WoW Forever

There are four new zones at launch, and they’re spread across the leveling journey rather than dumping everything at level 60.

Zephras Isle covers levels 1 to 12. Riverglades fills the level 35 to 45 stretch, which has always been one of the more awkward parts of the Classic leveling route. It also comes with more than 150 quests of its own.

Shen’Dralas sits between Mulgore and Desolace around levels 40 to 45, while Mount Hyjal is the level 60 zone and gives you somewhere new to go once you’ve finally made it to the cap.

Existing zones are getting new quests too, which is probably a good thing. There are only so many times you can run the same Classic quest route before you start questioning your life choices.

What Dungeons and Raids Are in WoW Forever

Forever adds nine new dungeons throughout the leveling journey, so you won’t have to wait until level 60 to see the new group content. The Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron are among the early dungeons, with more opening up as you level.

The first raid tier opens on December 9, just five weeks after launch. Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps are the new raids, while Onyxia’s Lair also becomes available.

So if you’re starting at level 1 and want to be raiding right away, you’re going to have a pretty busy five weeks.

What Is the Level Cap

Level 60 is still the cap, and that’s not changing with a traditional expansion later on. Instead of raising the cap, Forever adds progression through new content, gear and the Legacy system.

Legacy points are earned as you play and work across your account. There are 16 available per character at launch, so if you decide to roll another character later, you’re not starting completely from scratch.

What Is Camping

Camping is one of the new systems you’ll run into pretty early.

Around level 5, you’ll pick up The Great Outdoors and learn how to set up a campfire. You can then use different profession based objects around the fire to give players nearby useful buffs.

A Blacksmith can provide a Sharpening Wheel for Strength, a Tailor can put down a Faction Banner for Spirit and an Herbalist can provide an Incense Candle for Intellect.

A camp can hold three objects, but you can only place one yourself. That means if you want the full setup, you’re going to need other players.

Can You Buy a Level Boost or Game Time for Gold

No level boost, and Blizzard hasn’t announced a way to buy Game Time with gold in Forever.

That means the old fashioned level 1 to 60 grind is still very much part of the game. You’re looking at around 150 hours for the average player, with no flying mounts or level scaling to make the journey shorter.

If you’d rather get the character without doing the entire climb yourself, KingBoost offers WoW Forever leveling from launch.

What Should You Know Before November 4

So if you’re planning to start leveling on day one, it’s worth deciding what you actually want out of the launch before you log in. Maybe you want to take your time, explore the new zones and /hug the squirrels. Maybe you want to be level 60 and raid as quickly as possible.

Whichever path you choose, the grind starts on November 4. And if you’d rather spend those first days actually playing your new character than leveling it, take a look at WoW Forever New Zones Guide. It covers everything waiting for you out there, so you will know exactly where to head first.

See you in Azeroth, and may your loot rolls be kind!
